KFDM COOP Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 Post scores and comments from the series here...
adminbaberuth Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 Bears get this 1st one, probably finish the series Sat, with PNG sweeping the next 2, we look back at just 1 bad inning of Vidor and we leave with a 3-1 record against 19-4A.

juskillenit89 Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 KP win series in 3, those KP boy's sure can hit. Consistent pitching and good Defense.
ForeverADog Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 I like KP in 3. LCM doesn't have enough consistent pitching to match up with them.
Gabe Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Sounds like some great defense being played on both sides
utguy09 Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Who pitched for both teams? And can we get some stats from the game.
adminbaberuth Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 K smith pitches 6, waddell 1Vaughn and landry 2 hits with rbi's
adminbaberuth Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 I felt the Bears would take game 1, but a shutout?

KFDM COOP Posted May 7, 2010 Author Report Posted May 7, 2010 Masterful pitching leads LC-M past KPVan Wade Orange LeaderBEAUMONT — Getting a masterful one-hit pitching performance from their pitching staff, mainly from Kody Smith, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears blanked District 19-4A champion Kingwood Park 3-0 in Game One of their best-of-three Class 4A Region III playoff series at Lamar University’s Vincent-Beck Stadium Thursday night.Smith pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing just one hit while striking out five and walking four.Scott Vaughn had a big two-run single in the bottom of the fifth to spark the Bear win.The series will continue today at 6 p.m. at Kingwood Park High School. Game Three, if necessary, will be at noon Saturday at LC-M’s Don Gibbens Field. The LC-M-Kingwood Park winner will face either Magnolia or DeValle in the area round of the playoffs next week.Clay Ryan and Shane Waddell also pitched for the Bears in relief and did a fine job.The Bears struck for three runs in the bottom of the fifth off Kingwood Park starter Tyler Nichols.Mason Dallas got it started with a one-out single and moved to second on a superb sacrifice bunt by Jonathan Allen.Ryan Waddell drew a two-out walk and Brandon Landry brought home Dallas with an infield single as Dallas darted into home to beat the throw.Vaughn brought home some insurance by scoring Waddell and Landry with a hard two-run single.Nichols went the distance on the mound for the Panthers, allowing five hits while striking out four and walking one.The Bears’ withstood a Panther threat in the top of the sixth. After Smith walked both Crabtree and Tyler Nichols with one out, Clay Ryan took over on the mound and struck out Kyle Ebow but walked Austin Salter to load the bases.Shane Waddell then took the mound and the senior got cleanup hitter Sam Gee to fly out.The Panthers avoided trouble in the bottom of the first as the Bears left three runners stranded.Allen drew a one-out walk and Ryan Waddell reached on an error at shortstop. Brandon Landry loaded the bases with a sharp single.Nichols got out of the jam by getting Scott Vaughn to reach on a fielder’s choice to third as Allen was thrown out at home. Shane Waddell followed with a groundout to short. The Panthers’ Sam Gee doubled with two outs in the top of the fourth but was gunned out at third after outfielder Hunter Gonzales zipped the ball in to shortstop Brandon Landry, who threw a dart to third baseman Ryan Waddell as Gee went past the bag.Gonzalez had a two-out single in the fourth for the Bears.
