you missed the worst call this weekend, the old fake tag without the ball wasn't called, so i guess our locals are even.
[/quote]Fake tag without the ball could lead to an ejection along with the advancement of the runner if they havn't changed the rule which I dought they have because of the safety factor, don't know the particulars on the hidden ball trick BUT it will backfire with a balk IF not done correctly....

the shortstop did have the ball, the runner was not on the bag, and the pitcher was not on the mound... so yes the runner should be out. BUT the ball was never put back into play, time out was called.
