longview lobos vs vidor pirates

I heard that Vidor had a chance to play longview but chicken out. If this statement is true, why not? longview is closer than Texas High.  ???

I'm not a Vidorian like, SFA 85, but I would venture to guess that Matthews thought that a 60+ point loss early in the season is not what is kids needed to go through.  Just a wild guess.

I heard that Vidor had a chance to play the [b]Cowboys[/b] but chickened out ::).  Get real.  I wonder how many other football teams you are going to come up with that Vidor chickened out to play.  Vidors pre season schedule is much better this year.  Some people will never be happy.  Get a life.

All towns have bad parts, good point, but very very few towns have nothing but bad parts.  Vidoria is one of them.

Give Vidor a break,they are moving in the right direction trying to play bigger schools pre-season to evaluate their program/kids.They have a great HC and hopefully they'll develop a passing game soon enough to make a run for the district title that eluded them last year for the lack of a significant air attack.Comments about the community have no merit and is scuttlebutt.The very large talented Pirate band along with a talented football team was impressive and I hope success continues for the program.

[/quote] I know that Vidor is a up and coming football program. I know that they have a tuff pre-season schedule but why play schools that much smaller than them.  I would think you would play schools with deep depth to mentally challenge their minds and phyiscal capablities.  ;)

They've actually tried this time... There was crosby on the schedule, who made it several rounds deep in the playoffs last year.  We all know how that ended up...  At least they got Texas High.  And their playing a a top notch 3a team in K-Ville... I think they have made strides to toughen their schedule...

I for one have been tough on vidor in previous years regarding their schedule.
I do want to give them props for attempting a better non-district lineup.
