Havent heard much about overton except that they have 1 very good pitcher who throws in the mid 80's who is also their best hitter. I really believe that if Evadale will bring their bats and play error free baseball they will win this series.

Overton actually have 6 kids that can come in and pitch and do a very good job and as far as hitting are pretty loaded thru out the line up. The kids had trouble against a very good cross roads team, but pulled it all together in the 3rd game and came out playing like the team they are. So good luck to both teams.

Stats mean absolutely nothing at this point or any point in the season, stats get you honor. You think your gonna be remembered more if your batting .500 with 12 Hrs or batting .250  1 Hr and that one Hr comes as a wlk off in an important game. Bottom Line is if your team is full of talented players vs a team with great stats against weak teams, then talented players win. Everytime. It comes down to who makes plays.

I watched the first two Overton Cross Roads Games... Lets just say Cross Roads SHOULD be playing Evadale tomorrow night!

Btw- Overtons Pitchers are solid....Strike wise.... speed wise theyre average.

well guess, in your words, your Crossroads team wasn't as "TALENTED" as you expected then. I was there too and if you remember well Crossroads lost twice to Overton. In the 3rd game I believe that the MERCY RULE was in effect!! AKA, Slaughter rule, were we got to end the game early in the 5th inning... In case you forgot this spares the LOSING team the humiliation of suffering a loss!! but Overton doesn't have talent? Overton shouldn't be playing tonight?

Ur idiotic if you think you can sit here and think that Overton does NOT deserve the win. They have played top teams in East Texas including 2A White Oak that is still headed towards state. Both teams did great and it was an awesome game to watch but Overton FAIRLY won the battle. I presume that your either the type of "man" that sits in the stands reliving your glory days of bench riding trying to be a coach, OR the type that's nuts are too small to say anything in person.... fingers are quick to type, huh?

My fingers are quick to type but your talking trash over a computer, i simply stated an opinion. Btw i never said Overton didnt deserve to be playing this round. Im referring to the first game of the Overton CRoads series when Overton scores the winning run on a passed ball that should have been caught. And to clear something up, im not from Cross Roads, im from Palestine. I just try and catch good games. Like tonights Yuga Lovelady game. For those who dont know Yuga wins 6-5 in 9 Innings! Great game where Lovelady had many chances to score in the bottom of the 7th & 8th. Im catchin the Overton game saturday. goold luck to them, if it makes you feel better. Dont be so quick to judge :o

    • Still, from what little I saw, it should have been a much closer game.  WOS was missing some fundamentals on defense, and a lack of imaginative play calling on offense.  Just my opinion as an objective observer on Texan Live, which was horrible btw, but that's another story.
    • Either way,one game lead in the series. I rely to much on word of mouth
    • West Orange Stark has been a powerhouse since I csn remember. At some point, your bound to fall off to some degree. Alabama has 3 or 4 loses this season. Who would have thought? Has Orange lost kids to LCM or even Orangefield?
    • Interesting matchup this Friday. Both teams have very good offensive and defensive lines, which will make this game interesting. Having watched Texas High all season, they have a wide open offense with very good skill players. If you look at their stats they run the ball 57% of the time and pass 43% of the time. Personally, that is a bit deceiving, as most of their games have seen reserves running the ball in the 4th quarter. I would estimate the primary offense is 50/50. Through 12 games they have run for 3,224 yds (48tds) and passed for 2,894 yds (32 yds). Potter, the Tiger QB, has been very efficient with a 69% completion rate and 1 interception (which came from a tipped pass). The passing is distributed primarily to 4 receivers…. Ball (865), Wrightner (811), Montgomery (532), & Pilgreen (392). The rushing comes from 3 running backs … Johnson (1,432), Ball (768) & Moore (716).  The Tiger defense is solid and very quick.    Hope #15 is healthy enough to play. He is a test for any defense. I was concerned about the Nederland RB, but felt Texas High did a good job containing him. I wish this game was in the afternoon, as Nachitoches is having their Festival of Lights and their will not be any rooms in the inns and restaurants will be full so plan accordingly. PNG are state champions until someone knocks them off, so I extend the Indians the respect they deserve. Pulling for the Tigers.
    • The baseball coach has a ton of experience at high school and college level and hasn’t done anything for I think around 7 years now,it’s just something that the higher ups live with. And there has been talent come through that he hasn’t done anything with!
