Brenham vs. WF Rider Updates...CUBS WIN!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

They brought Wellbrock in for the 7th.  Weiss had a lead off triple in the 7th.  So they intentionaly walked Bolcerek and Hall to load the bases.  Then they turn a dp and Schlottmann grounds out to end the inning.
With 2 runners on in the 8th, Spivey hits a blooper to left and coach Long sends the runner home.  It was gonna be a close play but while fielding it, he fumbled it around....runner scores.

It was a very good game.  I thought Ty was pitching a lot better than Wellbrock did, but Chase was able to shut them down.  Rider did a great job in the 7th stopping the Cubs from scoring with the bases loaded and no outs.  Coach Long said that Wellbrock will be starting the game tomorrow (not really a surprise, he said he'll pitch the guy that is 17-0).

    • Loser of this game might possibly face Daingerfield in the 1st round of the playoffs depending on how district 11 plays out. Daingerfield hasn't been that great up to this point this year but that's still not a team you want to face first round if you can help it
    • Newton wins easily.
    • Hitchcock dline had a Nebraska commit and probably another guy that will play at the next level.  I do agree the oline has to start gelling together to move people off the ball where we can run the ball more consistently
