Correct me if Im wrong and Im not really putting the Raiders down but Lumberton as the 4th playoff spot? Am I missing something here? Maybe some Lumberton people can explain or help me out with this.

Going by last years roster Joey all I can tell you is they return 18 juniors/8 soph.from last year.Graduated 14 seniors so they have alot back so almost 1/2 of the team returns.I'd think LCM will be 1 of 4 to make the playoffs.

Is it me, or does it seem that DC bases his rankings alot on how the teams finished the year before? Not taking anything away from Central, just sayin.....

Mostly based on what's coming back and previous year's record factored in.

I would much rather be on the bottom of that list than the top... When Nederland started gaining notoriety in the late 90's, we were also picked to lose games in the playoffs and we surprised teams year after year.. now we are on the other side of it and its a lot harder to keep expectations high when you are expected to win all the time.. i love being the underDOG

I don't recall what DCTF predictions were for last year, was last years even close?  But it is just a prediction....only time will tell.  ;D

No. They predicted Vidor to take 20-4A, PN-G was ranked third, and I believe (although am not sure) that Lumberton was in the number two slot with either Nederland or Central in fourth.

As for this year's prediction, I agree with Nederland's slot. I've also said that PN-G and Central will share the top two spots, but the district title could go either way, so I at least partly agree with Dave Campbell here. However, I just don't see Lumberton taking the fourth spot and there's almost no way I see Ozen ending up in last place. I think Ozen and LC-M will be in the running for the last playoff spot.

I talked to a friend of mine the other day who had talked to one of our main players coming back. He sounded pretty disappointed. I guess if what he was told by the kid was right you can go ahead and put Vidor in the No. 8 spot.  :-[

What has your friend told you and is he close to the team?

Big Tank,  I wouldnt worry about this prediction much.  I think Ozen is going to be pretty good this year. propably fighting out for a playoff spot.

1.  Beaumont Central (Lot of good pieces here.  Young gun QB and D. Heard who averaged 9.5 yards per carry last year.  Not to mention we will have a good defense as usual.)

2.  Port Neches Groves (They are the champs with a great system in place will come down to the last game of the season)

3. Little Cypress - Mariceville ( Gonzalez is back and another year under Coach Crouch's system.  Also, the hotshot all district reciever comes back)

4. Beaumont Ozen ( Been hearing rumblings in the street that Ozen will do their thing this year)

5. Nederland ( May do better if they can get their QB situation under control)

6. Livingston ( Seems like the talent well maybe down over there)

7. Vidor (Best chance of success was last year.  Now, I just dont know)

8. Lumberton (back to you 'normal')

1. BMT Central - Playing their big brother helps....

2. PNG - No Refs saving you all this year....

3. LCM - Yes...that's right...Reyes' cousin Gonzales storms in as a sleeper!!!( Thanks to Mark Sanchez, the Latino QB's Stock has gone up!!!! :D :D :D)

4. Ned - No controversy, just us making drama....once the game starts, you can't read comments!!!

Does it really matter after the 4th spot?

Not sure about Livingston's talent this upcoming year so it would be unfair for me to judge how they will be, but just from what I see so far with the other teams, here is how I would rank it..

Central
PNG
Nederland
Ozen
Lumberton
Livingston
LCM
Vidor

$20 says LCM is not second to last in district...

    • Has Elmo gotten his aggy premature extension yet?  Pay him already because you guys were exactly right - he really does “get you.” 😂🤣
    • It’s been awhile, but I seem to remember 5 D starters out & 2 O starters out (OL). A big difference is that Simon wasn’t involved yet. He’s totally changed LP’s rushing attack from last year as a bruising, explosive addition to Barnes, Sandolph & Bright. Last year—and early this season—LP was missing that element. Now, Coach Berneathy is not making talented players wait like many other coaches & even his predecessors at LP. If the kid can produce at the varsity level, they’re moved up. And man, has Simon produced! Over 1200 yards & 20 TD’s in less than a full season so far! It’s allowed LP to alternate RB’s where Barnes doesn’t take all the pounding. Barnes and Sandolph are also able to split out as receivers as desired to add threats that weren’t really an option last year. The PNG/LP game was a full-on tilt & good for both squads. I remember Gary Joseph in the end zone giving his son pointers as an extra set of eyes since he’d had experience with LP in past PO matchups. That was a good game. The score wasn’t really indicative of the game. Not sure anyone felt it was over until the final whistle! Good luck to y’all in Cajun Country. Bring back a win for SE Texas. (Yes. La Porte is still SETX. Ha!)
    • SEC fan bases before Texas got there: “The horns aren’t ready for this. Every week is a battle.” SEC fan bases after Texas arrived: “Texas has the easiest SEC schedule ever!” SEC fan bases after every one of their teams has lost to one or more SEC teams from the bottom half of the standings, many of whom Texas beat comfortably: 🤐
