Alot to prove yet. Dayton will be wanting to avenge the 09 loss to Crosby and win back the title.With a big ole DCTF target painted on the Broncos they will challenge and hope to reach the 4A-Div.11 Quarterfinals for the 4th consecutive year in a row.Pre-season pits 23-5A Ft.Bend Elkins Knights 09 bi-dist finalist returning 6/6 and picked 3rd--23-4A D11 09 reg.semi-finalist Angleton Wildcats picked to win their dist. returning 8/8.18- 5A Aldine Ike 09 bi-dist finalist ret.8/4 and picked to win their dist.Will Dayton be healthy to start dist.play?It won't be for lack of conditioning.

Thanks Grad! Can't wait to get my copy to see how many is returning for each team. GCM has to rebuild this year and BH starting a new program! Lee could squeeze into 3 or 4 IMO.

Thanks Tex  :) now with my new information I'll pick like this  ;D

1.) Crosby - 7 returning on D that held Dayton to ZERO. Plus one of the 4 returning on O is the best QB in district!!!
2.) Dayton - Good Team / Great Coach + good returns on O and D
3.) BH - Most BH has returned in a while + we have a COACH  ;D
4.) GCM - Should have good Defense , but with 2 returning on O can they score enough???
5.) C.E. King - Good Return of players
6.) Lee - Not returning Squat, but can still be dangerous IMO
7.) GP - Returning a lot, but just can't compete
8.) N.Forest - If this team ever gets a Coach again they will be a force!

You better stock up on the zolaff and rolaids by September 24.....
That is the day for BH football fans that the delusions of grandeur come to a shocking reality check and the heartburn sets in......
In case you don't know what happens on September 24, that is the day that BH does not get enough first downs to surpass the number of TD's scored by the Broncos.

You have got to be kidding with the constant use of that phrase. Brag on your Broncos all you want, BUT PLEASE FIND SOME OTHER WAY TO TO GET YOUR POINT ACROSS. You are probably a nice guy but I want to knock your block off everytime I see that in your post.

Not so sure about the "not returning squat"
Lee returns the best player in the district which is always a good place to start.
The Ganders may have a shortage of players, but they have some good athletes.
Barbers Hill hasn't had squat since the mid 70's, so they are experts on observing squatless teams.

Easy Panama,  No reason to get your Gander feathers in a bunch ;D Lee is returning ZERO on Offense according to Dave Campbell, so I would define that as SQUAT and return 3 total out of 22 starters. Oh and we haven't won State since the 70's hmmmm When did Lee win State ??? oh yeah the same year Dayton did  ;D ;D ;D

      This is good info. It doesn’t really break out for student athletes though. LP & (I think) DP are open enrollment because of the way the towns intertwine. That’s the way it’s been for many years anyway. I assume it still is that way. The kids have a choice after Jr. High to go to either High School because LPISD has elementary schools in DP. As I recall, DP didn’t want to build out more (Robin Hood issues), and so DPISD & LPISD came to an arrangement because LPISD is one of the highest givers to Robin Hood in the state, and it helped both keep more funds in district. Of course, LPISD is open to all. Not just DP, and LPISD is rated well. So, I assume they have kids from elsewhere also. Not positive though. They used to have a lot because—for decades—DeWalt was the only dedicated public school in the GHA that specifically catered to special needs kids. Families from all over enrolled. But, they didn’t participate in extracurricular activities like sports. So, LP’s total enrollment made them 6A. But, they were really a 5A school all along for sports program sake. This is all as best as I can recall from when I was more involved in school issues. I’m sure a lot has changed since then. My kids have been out for 20 years.

      It’s been awhile, but I seem to remember 5 D starters out & 2 O starters out (OL). A big difference is that Simon wasn’t involved yet. He’s totally changed LP’s rushing attack from last year as a bruising, explosive addition to Barnes, Sandolph & Bright. Last year—and early this season—LP was missing that element. Now, Coach Berneathy is not making talented players wait like many other coaches & even his predecessors at LP. If the kid can produce at the varsity level, they’re moved up. And man, has Simon produced! Over 1200 yards & 20 TD’s in less than a full season so far! It’s allowed LP to alternate RB’s where Barnes doesn’t take all the pounding. Barnes and Sandolph are also able to split out as receivers as desired to add threats that weren’t really an option last year. The PNG/LP game was a full-on tilt & good for both squads. I remember Gary Joseph in the end zone giving his son pointers as an extra set of eyes since he’d had experience with LP in past PO matchups. That was a good game. The score wasn’t really indicative of the game. Not sure anyone felt it was over until the final whistle! Good luck to y’all in Cajun Country. Bring back a win for SE Texas. (Yes. La Porte is still SETX. Ha!)
