Nederland's Laird latest to commit to Lamar

Forgive Cody Laird if he's still trying to find the right words to describe the last year.

A year ago, he was learning to make the transition to pitcher for the Nederland baseball team. Now, he's learning how to make the transition to college baseball as Laird verbally committed to play baseball at Lamar University, a place he's wanted to play since he was a child.
