Ok. Who is Sam Fowler from Crosby? FNF magazine has him as the 4A all-state kicker. Never heard of him in 19-4A. Is he a transfer?

He has been the kicker at Crosby for last 2 years..but did not even make all district..This is a problem i have with all these top 100 and so on list...A lot are based on how well you do at camps put on by Rivals,Nike,Scout and so on...I have heard he does real well at kicking camps and FNF is basically a rivals magazine..Its like some of the kids went up on there ratings because they performed well at 7 on 7 ...Now thats nothing but touch football....In one of the magazines it list top 20 QB's in Texas and 11 of them still do not have an offer,but they all spent the 500.00 to have Randy Rogers promote your son...The college coaches laugh at all these ratings we are in awe over.....

Sam is a great kicker and an even better kid. I only wish the best for him. The kicker from Kingwood Park was really good the past 2 years , I think he made all district as a kicker. Fowler does his job as a kicker and has been on varsity since his freshman year . He will be playing on Saturdays somewhere after he graduates in 2 years.

I can't speak for crosby or gcm, but Carranco over in Dayton is one heck of a kid (his english is muy bien also).

      Solid week.  Alone in 4th for the playoffs.  If I hadn’t started off down 16-18 picks after 4 weeks I’d be up near the top 🤦🏻‍♂️

      This is good info. It doesn’t really break out for student athletes though. LP & (I think) DP are open enrollment because of the way the towns intertwine. That’s the way it’s been for many years anyway. I assume it still is that way. The kids have a choice after Jr. High to go to either High School because LPISD has elementary schools in DP. As I recall, DP didn’t want to build out more (Robin Hood issues), and so DPISD & LPISD came to an arrangement because LPISD is one of the highest givers to Robin Hood in the state, and it helped both keep more funds in district. Of course, LPISD is open to all. Not just DP, and LPISD is rated well. So, I assume they have kids from elsewhere also. Not positive though. They used to have a lot because—for decades—DeWalt was the only dedicated public school in the GHA that specifically catered to special needs kids. Families from all over enrolled. But, they didn’t participate in extracurricular activities like sports. So, LP’s total enrollment made them 6A. But, they were really a 5A school all along for sports program sake. This is all as best as I can recall from when I was more involved in school issues. I’m sure a lot has changed since then. My kids have been out for 20 years.
