Best way to find out how much an autographed photo is worth?

Recommended Posts

I was given an autographed photo of former Los Angeles 3rd baseman Ron Cey and I would like to find out how much it's possibly worth, if anything. I have no idea how to go about doing this and was wondering if anyone could help. My girlfriend's parents are cleaning out their attic and found the picture but have no interest in sports at all and told me to take it if I wanted it or they were going to throw it away. I got home and looked up some info on him:

Played for the Dodgers (1971-1982), Cubs (1983-1986) and Athletics (1987)
6× All-Star selection (1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979)
World Series champion (1981)
World Series co-MVP (1981)
1981 Babe Ruth Award
1982 Lou Gehrig Memorial Award

Career statistics:
Batting average    .261
Home runs            316
Runs batted in      1,139

You may try calling Tri-Star Productions. They put on the big trade shows around the country, including here in Houston @ George R. Brown convention center. Also, there is a magazine publication that deals w/ card values. I believe it is called Beckett's.

Both are correct about Tristar and beckett.  But Tristar as well as Steiners, Mounted Memories etc prices are inflated.

Example Roger Clemens Baseball Tristar Price $279.00.  I paid $49.99.

I have over 500 autographs including every living Hall of Famer on a single signed baseball.  I feel pretty confident in my pricing of the item.

If you have any others you want direction on feel free to ask.

But Value is what someone is willing to pay.

Check out this site. The pic you have seems to be a personal one, so it would be difficult to determine the value because you include the sentimental value.

....best I could do. You have probably run sites like this in the ground.

I found a site to gauge the value of comic books, of which I have several from childhood. (I wish I had kept them all now). One 'Spiderman' (issue #46) I have is worth $260.00. I thought that was cool. Good luck with yours.
