WOSgrad
That is depending on whether Oswalt approves the deal.
the sports guy
"I want to play for a contender." Approve the deal and get out of Houston.
ForeverADog
I just want him gone. He doesn't want to be here and the team needs to get younger. We have the worst farm system in baseball!

WOSgrad
I do, too. Listening to video from the link that COOP put up, Timmy K talks about the energy drain this has been for the Astros.
badndn
My big question is why the Astors have said that Brett Myers is "untouchable". Why would you not trade the guy if the right prospects were available? He has been great this year and could help to replenish the farm. Teams would be more willing to make a good deal for a guy like Myers who is not hampered with a large over-extended contract! Also anyone else notice that Ed Wade has only had success in making deals involving his old club in Philly? ? ? WOSgrad
Chronicle is reporting that Oswalt signed off on the deal. He is a Phillie now.

EAGLE07
Astros receive lefty J.A. Happ and 2 Class A prospects ( SS & OF ).............and eating $11 mil of Roy's contract next year.IMO, Philly gets the better end of this deal, however, Stros didn't have much choice. Best of luck to Roy O. My son and I have met him three times. He was very likable and spent time teaching and talking pitching w/ my son. I was very impressed. Ruckdad
SS Javi Villar and OF Anthony Gose. But they have flipped Gose to the Blue Jays for AAA 1B Brett Wallace who is likely major league ready or pretty close to it. Could even be your starting 1B next year. OldSkool97
One of my all time favorite Astros player. Hopefully he can do some good in Philly.
ForeverADog
The Wallace deal could mean Berkman won't be around much longer also! They had to make a deal and in a subpar market they got the best deal possible. I credit Wade on that. He knows we have to get younger I just don't know why we didn't start 3 years ago. Razor
Roy and Lance have both been great players for the Stros, but I agree it is time to move on...this team has very little hope of immediate success and it is time to start building for the future
Ruckdad
Wish Roy the best. Did a lot for the Stros and will be missed - but this team has to get better on the farm. this helped us get better on the farm. Maybe not a lot better on the farm, but better than we were.
