I've heard conflicting into and College Football Data Warehouse has nothing. In 1981, McNeese State was still I-A. Wasn't Lamar I-A in the Southland Conference in 1981? Then they dropped out of the SLC and became I-AA Independent the next year? Not 100% sure aware of your timeline. Perhaps it's in your media guide?
