becktobigs Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Micah Hoffpauir spent most of last year sitting behind Derek Lee, got sent out at the same time the Cubs released Millar (dropped two LU Cardinals and my interest at same time) and never seemed to get his stroke back. Until now.... http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20100808/SPORTS1402/100808011/1014/SPORTS03/Iowa-Cubs-Hoffpauir-s-bat-as-hot-as-the-weather-in-9-6-win
becktobigs Posted August 11, 2010 Author Report Posted August 11, 2010 Streak reached 18 games before 8/10/2010 call-up. Lee is on bereavement list so I don't know if it's premanent of not.
fatelvis04 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 From Wikipedia:The bereavement list may be used when a player finds it necessary to leave the team to attend to a serious illness or death in his (or his spouse's) immediate family. A player placed on the bereavement list must miss a minimum of three games and a maximum of seven games. The team can use another player from its 40-man roster to replace a player on the bereavement list.
