WellRead Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 In reading about area soccer players moving on to the college ranks I noticed several have been or will be attending school in the American Southwest Conference - an NCAA Division III conference. There are 14 schools in the conference with at least four schools having local men playing for them - Concordia, East Texas Baptist University, Hardin-Simmons University, and the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. Below is a link to the "ASC". From here you can follow the teams as they play this season. Some games may be close enough for area players and fans to watch them play. Good luck this season, guys!!http://www.ascsports.org/index.aspx?tab=soccer&path=msocCopy and paste the link to your browser.
WellRead Posted August 14, 2010 Author Report Posted August 14, 2010 If AKMartinez went to LaTourneau that makes five ASC schools with local men. Anyone know of any others? Not sure if any women from the area will be playing in the ASC this year. Also, school websites may have the 2010 schedules up for those interested.
rip2506 Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Keep your eye on 2011 class several playing Div 1,2 and3 ;)

SFA Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 What ever happened to Jacob Fairchild (West Brook)? He is not on the William Penn (NAIA) roster this year. I thought he had a very successful freshman campaign.

bullets13 Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 it's surprising to me that the players that did so well here haven't really broken out at their colleges.

hsusoccermom Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Hardin Simmons lost to UT Dallas 1-0 :'( :'(Congrats to UMHB on their win. We only saw the last couple of minutes of the game but was happy to see that one of the local guys are still in the running. Congrats to Travis on a good first year at HSU - we are already looking forward to next year. They are only losing 1 Sr. starter so they should be one of the teams in the ASC to watch next year.
