baddog Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010
:D True. No one wins scrimmages.
So true....Marshall lost. ;D
Jackthehammer Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Im not sure seems like the last couple of years I remember a lot of bragging when a certain 19-4a school and a certain 20-4a school scrimmaged each other so I thought it was considered to be a game around the area.
dawgnut Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 It's only a win if the team you want to win wins otherwise it's a scrimmage!
Roughrider Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Nederlands defensive front were just plain ridiculous. They dominated the line of scrimmage in a huge way. The Nederland defense is as good as its been in a while. This aint your brothers Nederland Bulldog Defense.
biaplayer Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 well what about the offense how did they move the ball against the defense or did the defense score the 2 tds?

Forney threw a 50 plus yard TD pass to Schlett and a 30 plus yard TD pass to Salenga. Kemp ran the ball very well.

FB Marshall's record last season was 2-8. They are 5A but should be 4A. Their enrollment according to the UIL is 1390 while Nederland's is 1459.Don't know anything about the scrimmage except what was written here. Just saying let's not get too excited about "beating" this 5A team.
tvc184 Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 I don't get too excited about "winning" a practice no matter who it is against. I don't get worried about "losing" one either.
Razor Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Nederland did look good, particularly on defense which is encouraging because we have struggled there in the recent past...Nederland is MUCH bigger on the d-line than in past years with far better speed as well...Marshall really did pretty much nothing against Nederland with the exception of a long TD run on the first play during game conditions...Nederlands offense still has some things to work on but Dionte had two big play TD passes to Schlett and Salenga, which is what this offense is all about, and I thought Kemp was very effective running the ball...he had a really solid game there...take scrimmages for what they are worth...I could care less about the score and am only concerned with how the team looks...Nederland will certainly be improved from last year...great mix of senior leadership and young talent
Jackthehammer Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Congrats on not winning but playing well in your scrimmage nederland
ReadOption Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Dayton will be a good test for this team. Evidently they have plenty of weapons and speed according to the post's from the WO-S scrimmage.
Bigdog Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 I don't care about the final score, just wondering how the team looked. It sounds like they are getting in sync with each other and playing as a team, which is good to hear on the first scrimmage.

liltex Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 Dayton/Nederland have had some lop-sided scores against ea.other over alot of yrs.but they've been very similar also. Both are well coached but I think for now Dayton is still showing where it left off last year.
