yeah the green practice jerseys really worked well with the gold pants and helmet, IMHO... ;D

Yeah offensively the passing game looked good; the receivers and both quarterbacks showed why LCM did so well in 7 on 7, and it was complimented by what appears to be an improved pass blocking o-line.  Ground game-maybe not so much.  Running backs had several 20+ yard runs, but were met in the backfield or at the line too many times; run-wise, o-line didn't look too much better than last year.

Defensively-story was similar.  The Bears pass defense looked much like last season (led district in pass defense); outside of one blown coverage Brazoswood had no 10 yard + completions, and several passes were deflected and one was intercepted.  Run defense looked good early but wore down and had much trouble stopping Brazoswood as the scrimmage wore on.  Although it should be noted that Brazoswood made it to the 4th round of 5A last year on the shoulders of that run game.

Bottom line-better version of last year's Bears-strength in passing game and pass defense, weakness is probably in ground game.

nice gathering tonight for "Meet the Bears"...

Coach Crouch is a great mentor and example for these young men...  for the first time in "several" seasons, there appears to be some excitement back in bear country.

Good luck to the young men that make up the Bear football team.
