I am almost surely cancelled out on those days. I work weekends but I have commitments on both of those weekends anyway so a vacation day won't help. I think that I still have 3 weeks of vacation left but those weekends are booked. I know 9-11 is locked up as I usually run my honor guard on a 21 gun salute for the 9-11 memorial.

How far do you run out of Freeport? I except it may be less than out of Galveston and sure closer than Sabine Pass. I know when I fished out of Aransas Pass oh so many years ago, it was a lot shorter run to the deep water. I've never fished out of Freeport.

As far as distance out, I normally run between 60 and 90 miles offshore.  It really depends on seas, weather, and what we are trying to catch.  Oh, and how much fuel we have....LOL  That's a pretty important part right there.

If we don't get takers on these dates we can always pick another.  I take shift workers all the time so i am not apposed at all to buring a day of vacation to run a week-day trip.  Usually fewer boats out there anyway during the week.

OK folks, shooting for October 2nd and 3rd trips. If interested let me know.
estimated cost for this one?
If you're from west orange it's....... Just kidding.  4 people is $200 each and 5 people is $160 each.  We just split the cost fo the trip (all inclusive). Depending on fuel prices, this is what it's been running.

    • I agree with a lot of that. My last child graduates from college next spring, and it will just be my wife and me. Our house isn't huge (3,500 sq. ft.), but it's definitely larger than the 2 of us need. Don't need the pool either. Or the 2,000 sq. ft. shop either (blasphemy, I know). Or the 1,600 ft. lean to for mowers, toys, boats, atv's, utv's either. Or 7 acres either. Not if I plan on retiring in the next 10 years or so... So we sat down to figure out a plan on building/buying a new home, and we could only get it down to 2,500 sq. ft., no pool, 1,200 sq. ft. shop, smaller lean to proportionate to the shop, get rid of 1 boat, 1 ATV, 1 UTV, (that'll leave me with one of each) on 3 acres. I stepped back and realized we have lost our effing minds... I grew up in mobile homes or an old wood frame house under 1200 sq. ft. for most of my young life - and we were fine... And there were 6 people. Crazy man, crazy.
    • If Johnson isn't the starting QB, I'd like to see him at WR to be on the field. He is a great athlete for sure.
    • That's not exactly true. There is an entire neighborhood behind the subdivision where I used to live in Lumberton called Westwood Village. The built brand new brick 1 car garage homes between 900 SF and 1100 SQ....I thought that was the dumbest idea ever......and everyone of them sold...... I'm keeping an eye on Silsbee for any deals. Due to house prices, insurance, etc.....they are now building 1300 sq ft houses for $170 sq ft.......  $237,500 for a "starter" house....... This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up   You can come across some deals on homes that need work and are sold "as is" .  I didn't really like helping and watching my Dad, but I'm grateful he taught me electrical, plumbing and carpentry so I can do 90% of the work that any house may need....you start subbing that out and your price doubles at least.......

    • She has no idea.  She might be able to appease some foreign dignitaries with some Oval Office invitations, if you know what I mean.  Some on here do, you, probably not so much!
