They only did a top 100 and are counting their way down...so SHSU could still be ranked.

After second look, they are doing this based off the last SIX years. If that is the case, SHSU should be ranked pretty strongly based on our winning percentage, 20-win seasons and conference statistical leaders...

Would think SHSU would potentially be the highest-ranked...

FYI - CollegeHoopsNet has SHSU as the #2 team in the SLC this year in their top 144 countdown. Last year may have been the first year in which the SLC had two teams in what I recall and glad to say we will this year too.

MidMajority.com has only been around for the length of their analysis. The term "mid-major" is actually very new and does not have a true lengthy "legacy" to it.

Any idea when that term came into being?

If my memory serves me correct (disclaimer, I am 46 years old ;D), the term "Mid-Major" was started by ESPN in the mid 90's, say around '94.

I remember this because Lamar was in the American South Conference I believe, and "Mid-Major" was being tossed around alot back then.


I am really not sure, had a few beers since the mid '90's. ;)

While I'm asking - when did 'walk off' come into major use in baseball? Seems like it's been the last 5-10 years..

I would consider the term "walk off" a more recent term. Probably since 2000.

I know I played college baseball back in the '80's and never heard the term.

But, we'll be in a FBS conference so mid-major isn't a bad thing in my opinion.  Actually, most people in the athletic community say the SLC is a low-major conference.

Wouldn't surprise me...

Unless the SHSU defense shows me otherwise between now and then, I'm predicting Bevil at 375 yards and Hayes at 150.
