Here is the football site - it goes to the schedule which shows 2010. If you click on roster, it evidently shows last year's roster. There is an article in today's Ft. It's Mike Matthews, Jake graduated. Elkins returns a lot of guys at the skilled postitions, but Jordan Jolly was their main offensive weapon last year. Burkhalter is the real deal, he went down with an injury in Week 7 I believe and Elkins put WR Jolly at QB for most of the snaps. They have a pretty good O-line, a Pro style QB, and return two quality QB's so I expect their passing game to be pretty good. The question mark is Defense, I think Dayton makes more stops than Elkins.....All of the Ft. Bend schools are loaded with athletes, it's coaching that holds them back.

you've been pretty  tough on the secondary...

I remember the busts, but I also remember some bright spots. Inparticular... Shivers #84 broke up two passes at least against a much taller Roberts from WOS (UH commit I believe)... Q. williams has had a couple break ups as well. To me those are good signs... it seems we don't usually get a lot of those early in the year.

[/quote] Yeah maybe alittle tough - not being cynical though just a little concerned - that's no easy task gong against the fastest athletes and I'm glad we went up against two spread teams in scrimage. I like  how fast the Bronco's have progressed thus far friday will be a good test.

      It’s been awhile, but I seem to remember 5 D starters out & 2 O starters out (OL). A big difference is that Simon wasn’t involved yet. He’s totally changed LP’s rushing attack from last year as a bruising, explosive addition to Barnes, Sandolph & Bright. Last year—and early this season—LP was missing that element. Now, Coach Berneathy is not making talented players wait like many other coaches & even his predecessors at LP. If the kid can produce at the varsity level, they’re moved up. And man, has Simon produced! Over 1200 yards & 20 TD’s in less than a full season so far! It’s allowed LP to alternate RB’s where Barnes doesn’t take all the pounding. Barnes and Sandolph are also able to split out as receivers as desired to add threats that weren’t really an option last year. The PNG/LP game was a full-on tilt & good for both squads. I remember Gary Joseph in the end zone giving his son pointers as an extra set of eyes since he’d had experience with LP in past PO matchups. That was a good game. The score wasn’t really indicative of the game. Not sure anyone felt it was over until the final whistle! Good luck to y’all in Cajun Country. Bring back a win for SE Texas. (Yes. La Porte is still SETX. Ha!)
