Scoutu14 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Jus got word that starting QB Dionte Forney is out for at least 2 weeks with a sprained MCL.
Gasilla Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 I dont believe that for a second! I had no report at all that he was injured Friday.
The Goat Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 I wouldn't want to play qb at nederland.
BMTSoulja1 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 This is not good at all! At least the kid will be back before district starts...
Mike George Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 I don't remember when, but at sometime during the scrimmage I commented to a couple of coaches working the time devices how he seemed very tentative walking back to the huddle after a play and breaking the huddle. Once the ball was snapped he seemed fine, but almost immediately after the play walked almost stiff legged.I watched him leave the field after everyone else had after having come down from the pressbox. He was walking very stiff-kneed at that point. If he wasn't injured prior to the scrimmage, then it had to be during the early part of the contest. IMO.
KFDM COOP Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 He finished the scrimmage this past week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike George Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Both teams had most of their offensive starters in for most of the scrimmage. If he didn't play the whole scrimmage then the sub got about one or two possessions and they weren't very long possessions, either. This was not a ROUTINE scrimmage. This was a tune-up for the regular season with both staffs trying to fine-tune their regular season product. So for those of you who say, "it was just a scrimmage," evidently were not there. Also, I was disappointed in the lack of fans from Nederland who were not there. This was a Saturday evening affair and as such should have been better represented by both towns, IMO.OOOps, my bad, it was a Friday night. Golly gee these days and nights run together this time of year.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 NED has a curse for QBs getting hurt dating back to when Brad Sullivan played.
adminbaberuth Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 If true, the QB will probably be at 3.20 markhttp://www.kfdm.com/video/?videoId=591166429001
1motime Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 after watching him in the scrimmage with Dayton I wondered why they left him in, he was limping and defiantly in pain.... If he was my kid I wouldn't let him play at all.

baddog Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 So does this give Carson Raines a shot? I really don't know who is next in line this year.

We'll see soon.
outanup Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 I believe Raines is his backup, seems he would get the nod. If this is so.....
GoDogs27 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 doesnt that take 4-6 weeks to heal?? why does this crap happen to us every year?

Guest GCMPats Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 Having a son who played last year with this type of sprain, we were told it was an injury that would only limit you based on your tolerence for discomfort. The kid was already wearing two knee braces and looked very "gimpy".
skipper Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 this is only going to make nederland play harder.i still am looking for a good game,i hope this young kid get over this in a hurry

He works harder and is the future of the Dogs. When someone thinks he is bigger than the program, it is not that big of a loss. There is no room for laziness on a football team.I am sure this will get erased.........Whatever[/quote] ???
