Ive had an idea...

My father in law was telling me yesterday, that as he was on his way home from Alto he was trying to find a scoreboard show on the radio, and there was not one. He suggested that we do one...

Of course Todd and I already have the OT, but that only covers Southeast Texas.

Around Sept. 15, 102.7 KTXJ (the station we put Newton and Kirbyville on) is doubling their wattage from 25,000 watts to 50,000 watts. This will push their listening area to probably past Winnie, north to maybe Rusk, and possibly west past Livingston and maybe to Cleveland...

So I am considering making an offer to the station to have a scoreboard show on there which would be for both SETXsports and EastexSports....

It could be....just revamped a little...I probably would have another person with me here in the studio, who would serve as East Texas guru

here is the coverage map right now for the station

by the way, the going rate for the station 65 bucks and hour....so probably 130 bucks a week or so to do this

Sounds like we need a title sponsor for this show.

So, based on their wattage now, the farthest south it reaches is Lumberton. But with the new wattage, it would cover all the Golden Triangle.

I believe that would be necessary if you were to do the show.

Question, like other radio stations do, will that wattage be turned down at night? If so, how would that effect the coverage?

They are telling me it would be very clear in beaumont...

I may be mistaken but i think AM stations are only turned down at night, because they can reach way further

I know for a fact that KTXJ's FM is not turned down...i think it actually gets stronger at night

I vote we get Hamburger Depot to be the title sponsor to cover the costs of the show.

I was thinking the station was AM not FM.

Sounds cool, it would take care of the biggest gripe that I hear about the show that since it is on the net, they really can't hear it if they are on the road.  This might get more callers.
