Very nice pics! What type of lens (focal length and f-stop) is it, if you don't mind me asking? I'm shopping for a new lens myself.

I bought a Tamron lens (28-75mm & f-2.8) for my Nikon D60.  I'm still a novice & trying to figure out all the settings on the camera.

Try shooting at 1/400 with your f-stop as low as it will go with your ISO at about 1600...I use the same and have no grain in my images but I use the Canon 70-200 at F2.8 1/400 with my ISO as high as it will go. Stay out of the endzones...poor lighting.
