ForeverADog Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Just heard we are sold out for Saturday!!! Great job Cardinal fans!
lcm2007ms Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Yes, and the student tickets are going fast! I was told it will be standing room only
NorthoftheBorder Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Awesome! Got my season tickets so it should be crazy.
bigred360 Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Yep, the game is sold out! But, I'm disappointed that they aren't going to have standing room only behind the endzones. I was told they are worried the grass there isn't ready and could get muddy which they don't want. However, I wish they would have standing room only on the concourse at the Montagne Center.
They won't get 20k without letting them stand there. In fact they will only have the 16k capacity of the stadium. The grassy areas are they only "standing room only" areas in the stadium.
coachacola Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Season tickets are sold out too! SRO tickets for Saturday's game requires approval from the construction manager and fire marshal.http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/news/local/tickets_to_lamar_university_s_football_game_sold_out.html
UNLV Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 If LU expanded the stadium to 40k, the game would still be sold out.
NorthoftheBorder Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 UNLV I don't think we could get 40k yet but the mid 20's would not surprise me for this game if the stadium could hold it. I still want to know what the season ticket sales are for this year. I read on this site or BigRedInsider.com that they have sold out all of the season tickets alloted. But what is that number. I have to believe that it is at least 6k. Maybe more. If it holds 16k and you alot 4k for students and another 500 for band and then that gives you 11.5k for ticket sales. Wish someone who knows would shed some light on this. We will just have to wait and see how the season goes but stadium expansion should be a topic that is looked at and being planned for in the near future if the demand stays where it is right now. Let's hope it does and then some.

Rebel Yeller Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Congrats Lamar! You have to be excited about how football has restarted at LU. The Stadium looks awesome from the pictures, a sold out game, a great crowd that traveled last weekend and the performance on the field. I would not be surprised to see Lamar come out with it's first voctory in their first home game. Now that would really raise the level of excitement!
WOS95 Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 unlv wont be satified until we have a stadium the size of kyle field that has a retractable roof :D
NorthoftheBorder Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010
unlv wont be satified until we have a stadium the size of kyle field that has a retractable roof :D
That may be true, but I like his big time thinking. Just like coach Woodard would rather have a very agressive player that he has to harness a little to keep under control instead of a passive kid he has to try to motivate to be agressive, I like big thinkers who want to reach instead of those who say we are too small and weak to be better and bigger. You achieve bigger goals with the former.

Coach Woodard and staff came out of montagne by ticket counter and said "Why are all these people here?" Gotta love a sense of humor.Heard that all the student tickets went as well. Better get there early.
Bucof2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Buddy got an extra one thank the lawd
NorthoftheBorder Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Parking is the next big obstacle. I am mapping out my strategy since I do not purchase a paid parking pass in one of the closer lots.
LCM2LU Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Just got my tickets! W00t! Can't wait man. I have no idea where I'll park either. My super sneaky plan is to come in from the Cardinal Drive side and keep moving till I see a lot with space ...
Michele Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Any word yet if they are gonna open the grassy areas for standing room only?
bigred360 Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 They are suppost to let us know by this afternoon. Wish standing on the concourse of the Montagne Center was an option.
