WHO GET'S CREDIT FOR DA' BUTCH....why didn't they bring up getting BUTCH slapped? ;D
[/quote]

I cleared that with AggiesAreWe last night and then decided to give credit to all of the "football guru's" on SETXSports.com. I like the Butch Slapped idea but I don't think DCTF would've allowed me to use that one. In fact, they may have Butch Slapped me for trying....LOL!

OK...I got called on something I wrote in my blog so I will step up to the plate and make amends. ChampionEagle sent me a message rather than "ripping me a new one" in the forum (I appreciate that by the way) so here is my response.

I wrote that the 41-6 Kirbyville victory had to be "one of the most lopsided wins" in the KV/Newton rivalry. This was just a generic comment. I know there have been bigger victories, especially by the Eagles, but I thought 41-6 probably ranked up there somewhere so I went with the "one of the biggest" phrase just to avoid being WRONG! So much for that. Actually, 41-6 is probably somewhere in the middle. I usually research info if I am trying to be "EXACT" with a statement but, again, this was not one of those times. I was just trying to meet a deadline and make a generic statement...ha!

Anyway, his message got me thinking so I did some research and I came up with the following info from thsfpedia.com. Take it for what it is. The 2010 game is in the books but I think you'll find some interesting scores here, to include a 73-0 win by the Kats and a 62-0 win by the Eagles (the real "most lopsided" victories in this rivalry).

NOTE: Some years are not available or there simply was no game played that year. Apparently, from 1922-38 and from 1916-20, Newton suspended football. Surprised the football crazy Eagle fans didn't burn the town down during those years. You couldn't do that today in Newton...LOL!...Also, don't rip me if a score is wrong...Just posting what I found!

This is a quality guy. I told him it was no big deal and he still went out of his way to do this. Kudos and karma.

Karma back at ya! Thanks.

    • This is how you know Trump is the real deal!
    • From the article:   "Massachusetts welfare recipients have been using their EBT cards while on tropical vacations to Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and other trips thousands of miles away from their home state, an investigation by the Boston Herald revealed.  Public records obtained by the outlet showed dozens of EBT card expenditures at several popular vacation destinations, including California, Florida, and Alaska, as well numerous holiday islands.  While the federal and state governments spent $3 billion on the taxpayer-funded EBT cards in Massachusetts during Fiscal Year 2024, 32 charges were made in Hawaii — with the largest expenditure being $378 on the island of Maui in March, the report found.  Dozens of other purchases made by welfare recipients pinged from all over the Virgin Islands and Alaska, including a $395 charge in Anchorage, a popular cruise port.   In fact, EBT recipients in the blue state have spent taxpayer dollars in virtually every U.S. state, and all over tourist hotspots in Florida and California.  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up @Big girl  @UT alum  @HuntersLaptop2028      What say you?!
    • The D-backs' Pavin Smith had the game of his life. 3-4 with 3-HRs, including a 3-run HR, grand slam, and solo shot for a total of 8-RBIs.  Before the game, my son and I watched JV warm up throwing long toss in the outfield.  He kept meeting with a trainer.  I did not see him give facial expressions or body language that he was injured but something is off.  In the first inning, his 4-seam fastball was between 94-97.  In the third inning it was 88-90.  When Smith came up to bat in the 5th inning, fans were yelling, hit him, throw it at him, back him off the plate.  Others were yelling, walk him!!!  He hit the solo HR.  One of those games for the Astros.  Day off tomorrow...welcome the Okland As on Tuesday night for one dollar dog night.
