Left with 3 mins left and it was 35-14 Humble.
Humble looked like they lost interest in the 2nd half.

Bingo.

Defensively, Humble dominated the game.  Near the 2nd half, you could tell the players were ready to move on to next week.  This is something the coach has to address, no half arse play.  All out or go home.

Offensively, Humble made some coaching mistakes.

1. rotating QB's every other quarter, when it was obvious #1 Kyle washington knew how to drive the sports car a little better.  #7 Marcus Ray just didn't manage the game very well, and the offense just wasn't feeling him.

2. We have some kids that are extremely athletic that can really run, and rather run before they actually catch the ball.  #6 Jaylan Zallicoffer is a beast, WHEN he gets the ball in his hands.  But he has a tendency to reach up for the ball and go before he has it secured.  #9 Kyle Tucker is probably our most lethal weapon on offense, capable of taking it to the house on any given play.  he is literally a shoe-lace away from breaking it away.  However, he has problems with his route running and timing.  He gets the ball to early or too late.

3. Offensive-line- A lot better then last weeks fiasco of missing 3 starters, but you can tell that the rust is still very solidly packed on this unit.  Pulling to shallow, or just forgetting to pull.

All in all nothing some film and a hard weeks of practice won't fix.

Defensively i was pleased in the first half, the 2nd half we started putting in subs (about 4 minutes into the 2nd half, at LB and DE)...had some mental mistakes from the "green" guys that led to some major yardage.  But im glad we through in the back ups, because it allows them to build the strength of the bench.

Player of the game defensively- either #2 Brison Burris , #10 Cliff Thomas, or my personal Favorite #50 Paul Boyette.

Final Score: 42-14.  And the game was actually not even as close as it looks.  Being 21-0 in the half, just gives you some perspective that this young but talented team has to learn to finish what they start.  They most definitely got bored.  Come playoff time, we will be a force.

THe score shouldn't have been that close. Sterling is garbage. Humble should have hung 50 on the Rangers.

You have to understand that unlike most teams right now, we still don't have our QB situation settled (although next week, i am sure that Kyle Washington will be the starter).  We rotated QB's every quarter.

1st Quarter- Kyle Washington- Points Scored  14.
2nd Quarter- Marcus Ray- Points Scored 7pts
3rd Quarter- Marcus Ray- Points Scored 7pts
4th Quarter- Kyle Washington- Pointes Scored- 14

He just manages the offense better, no mistakes on reads.  No mistakes on handoffs.  No interceptions.

Offense is still rusty, but by the time we roll around to district we should have all the kinks worked out.

all the points scored by Sterling were against a mixture of starters and 2nd string guys, most of our 2nd string guys were green to the friday night lights.  But after the settled down they managed to stop Sterlings 1st string group from moving the ball.  i personally feel that the Humble coaching staff should of waited for another TD before we put in our 2nd string....28-0 against those sort of athletes is kind of shocking to kids who have never played varsity before.  But i was proud of how they handled it, and helped put 2 more scores on the board.

We need work, but we are still on a path to be a very powerful team.

How did Sterling lose a point?
[/quote]

I had a minor brain fart, and forgot that they scored on a 2pt conversion to Gibson.  So, it was 42-14.

Honestly, i am kind of glad that they got some points on the bored.  It was a very sad sight to see them get gobbled up on every play.  Sterling generally isn't very good, but i have to admit i was expecting more with the level of talent.  But the offense is predictable, and against equal or better athletes...they can't do much
