The Future of the Newton Eagles looks very promising considering the play of there young talented players,#3 Kevin Shorter, RB  looks very good he is only freshman and with the way he retured kicks vs Kville and his 115 yards rushing yards and 70 yard punt return for a TD vs Corigan Camden.. also #1 Dj dean soph. looks to be a very good rec and backup QB to another young player Trevor Holmes Junior QB 6'3 215 . one other young player Junior Wr Tim Simmons looks as if He is playing with alot of confidence from the experice of starting his soph yr. My assessment of this Team gives me reason to beleive that Newton is in a Rebuilding stage that will lead to many more victories in the next few years, and with New young coaches like Malcolm Isom learning under One of the best Coaches in Texas (Barbay)Newton is Moving in the right directions even if they take a few bumps and bruies in this Season.

He started last week sometime before Kirbyville. The defense looked like it last night. Aggressive, crossing the line of scrimmage, still need to work on pursuit.
[/quote] Yea Pursuit looked off a little, and the first half are speed wasnt really showing , CC seemed to match up well with our speed in the first half, but Newton got it going in the second half.

    • From the article:   "Massachusetts welfare recipients have been using their EBT cards while on tropical vacations to Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and other trips thousands of miles away from their home state, an investigation by the Boston Herald revealed.  Public records obtained by the outlet showed dozens of EBT card expenditures at several popular vacation destinations, including California, Florida, and Alaska, as well numerous holiday islands.  While the federal and state governments spent $3 billion on the taxpayer-funded EBT cards in Massachusetts during Fiscal Year 2024, 32 charges were made in Hawaii — with the largest expenditure being $378 on the island of Maui in March, the report found.  Dozens of other purchases made by welfare recipients pinged from all over the Virgin Islands and Alaska, including a $395 charge in Anchorage, a popular cruise port.   In fact, EBT recipients in the blue state have spent taxpayer dollars in virtually every U.S. state, and all over tourist hotspots in Florida and California.  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up @Big girl  @UT alum  @HuntersLaptop2028      What say you?!
    • The D-backs' Pavin Smith had the game of his life. 3-4 with 3-HRs, including a 3-run HR, grand slam, and solo shot for a total of 8-RBIs.  Before the game, my son and I watched JV warm up throwing long toss in the outfield.  He kept meeting with a trainer.  I did not see him give facial expressions or body language that he was injured but something is off.  In the first inning, his 4-seam fastball was between 94-97.  In the third inning it was 88-90.  When Smith came up to bat in the 5th inning, fans were yelling, hit him, throw it at him, back him off the plate.  Others were yelling, walk him!!!  He hit the solo HR.  One of those games for the Astros.  Day off tomorrow...welcome the Okland As on Tuesday night for one dollar dog night.
    • That new bar in Dallas is pretty awesome
