Well, based on what I've seen thus far...

1) Anahuac
2) Newton
3) Woodville or EC (if Jones comes back for the Bucs I don't see W'ville beating them)

I tend to agree so far this season, I would love to see that Newton vs. Anahuac showdown.  If Jones gets healthy for EC then this district gets really exciting.

I have not seen any of the teams play but by reading what has happen so far this year, I would have to put  Harden in the mix. I think the 3 spot will be between EC, Woodville and Harden.

In this districts format, aren't the top 2 teams the only ones to go to playoffs?  I thought this was one of the changes when 2A went to D1 and D2 districts.

I haven't seen the other teams in this district, but I will tell you that Anahuac is good.  It's gonna take a lot to beat those Panthers.

Newton has 4 Backs that are pretty darn good, Bennett#11 was all state last year , Jermey Jackson#25 has good hands Deion Sharp#21 is a tuff back and  Freshman Kevin Shorter#3  Looks unstoppable plus he is a huge return threat (70 yard punt return for TD vs CC, and had great returns vs Kville)

Kinkaid is a private school and has the size of probably Huffman....on the edge of 3a/4a - big team to say the least!  HJ is down this year where yall only beat them by 14 last year. HF is still down - but we are playing larger schools...however, we all know Newton is not the same Newton when they lost by 34pts.  Yall may be good, but wouldn't have beaten the Panthers by that margin!

WOS beat HJ by 14 as well...HJ didnt have a bad team last year and guess what? They still lost...Ford had 200 yds in that game. Yall suppose to have a good RB this year. Let me tell you something...one RB wont getcha past Newton and thats a promise.
