Guest GCMPats Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Thanks Brook. That's just what I wanted to hear. Played on the Sterling team that tied Brook in the Dome that year. Sure wish we would of had OT back then.
tvc184 Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Nederland has been 3 times with 1 championship.

Guest GCMPats Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Positive. Brook's first year, Jerry Ball, etc...Tied 7-7, tied on penetrations, lost on first downs.TOTAL SUCKAGE!
BrenhamFan Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Brenham- 2002 & 2009... (went 11-0 in 1941, winning the region, but that's as far as a 1A school could go back then)*That is more messed up than a tie.
rschuldt Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Dayton has gone once since I can remember
pngfan1 Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 PNG has been 6 times, won 3 lost 3. Won in 1953,1955,1975 and lost in 1954, 1977,1999.
Bill Dauterive Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Barbers Hill has been twice, and did not lose either game. tied Sonora in 1971 to garner a Co-ChampionshipBeat DeLeon in 1976.
oldrock Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Bishop Byrne 3 times, won in 1955, lost in 1959 and lost in 1977. I was on the 1977 team that lost to Gary Kubiak. Byrne closed in 1983.

I believe Ball blocked a FG attempt that would have put Sterling ahead 10-7.
Guest GCMPats Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Yep. The weird part is that if we would have let them score on the returned blocked FG (we tackled him inside the 10) it would not have counted as a penetration and RSS would have advanced. Went and watched the Bruins beat LD Bell and knew it could have been us.
Guest GCMPats Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Would have gone up 10-0. WB only scored after the blocked FG.

Guest GCMPats Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 We never watched the game film.
Cardinal Supporter Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Bridge City went twice that I know of. 1965 lost but I don't remember to who. 1966 won against Mckenny 30-6. I think this is the two years they went. I moved to BC in the late 70's and don't know if they had ever been earlier than the mid 60's.
ChampionEagles Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Newton has been four times and won three.
