You act like losing your starting QB is no big deal. That's just silly. Think Abilene wins a title last year if their starter goes down.
hold up there buddy, the QB was hurt sometime in the playoffs and lost their all everything WR for the season---and Abilene STILL won. ;)
and on a bum ankle :D make you wonder what happens when Katy faces a fast athletic team. All I know is he rushed for over 200 yards with 3 TD's against Katy that night.

One man doesn't make a team, but the QB position is the hardest to replace.
Offense should make the player, Player shouldnt make the offense.....until that changes, West Brook wont get over the hump. PAM and North Shore wont call off the dogs 2nd possesion of the 2nd half like Katy did.....game was OVER when the second QB, Second line and 3rd RB got in the game...kudos to West Brook for keeping THEM out of the endzone. Losing a starting QB IS a big deal when he is the ONLY offense you have...remember the RB from Katy missed all of the regular season last year with a broken leg, the QB got his FIRST START as a sophomore in the state semifinals......some coaches take a player and build an offense around that single player...everyonce in awhile you get a Vince Young and it works.....other coaches build a SYSTEM and then build around the system.....if you drive a racecar and have a flat, you change the tire and you still have a racing car..that's Katy.....if you have a racecar and blow then engine, and replace it with a regular engine.....its not a racecar anymore...that was West Brook yesterday.....it was a ford pinto with racing stripes and fat tires.....looked like a racecar....but no motor. And sorry 82, back to the topic..I say the Bruins bounce back but the Raiders play them close.....35-24 WB.
Is the Pinto for sale? lol! Guest Newbie
Before last night's game I would have easily said WB. After we exposed our weakness for all the world to see, I still say WB on a close one. I hope we learned from our mistakes.

Does the rest of the TEAM not matter?
You know, before this game, I thought Brook was a complete team. I didn't realize how much of the offense relys on this kid. Nevertheless, he'll be back and while he's there they'll be fine. He's part of the team, so what point are you trying to make?
Point I'm trying to make is...one player shouldnt make or break a TEAM......about 19 OTHER starters return from a team that went 3 rounds deep, there should be no "If Reyes play we win" type comments. The fact that the offense DOES rely on one kid is disturbing for West Brook.....Great Coaching will beat Talent 9 times out of 10....and right now WB seems to be focusing on Talent.....you can out talent the Ozen's, Centrals and Eisenhowers of the world, but not the top tier teams...
Actually, it's usually Ozen and Central that have more talent than WB. Coaching is superior @ Brook. But for some reason, Brook coaches take the 'Mr. Coach Kline' from waterboy approach when it comes to playing your Katy's, Cinco Ranch's, Westfield's, ect...
here you go

cowboys
Tyler Lee has played a brutal schedule to date: Euless Trinity, Lufkin, John Tyler, & The Woodlands. Now, they have not won a game, but this squad is full of athletes. The sophomore running back they have is a stud. They gave The Woodlands all they wanted. If they get firing on all cylinders, beware...If West Brook gets on them early, they are likely to lay it down.

82 5A State Champs
Things not looking good over in WB land. Reyes will not play against Tyler Lee. Lil Stump is gonna have to take the bull by the horns and run that offense to perfection if we're gonna have a chance of pulling this one out. :( Now, I guess we get to see what kind of QB we're gonna have next year. I've watched this coach get way too much credit when the Bruins wins and not enough credit when West Brook loses. He has senior WRs on his team that has been in the system for four years and yet he runs his son out there at WR. We have better kicking options in number 1 and number 14, but he runs his son out there to kick. This is the most blatant case of daddy ball I have ever seen. Stump has never been thrown to. I just pray we can squeak by with a W today. I heard #8 looked really good in practice this week. Plus, I believe they may bring Reyes in to run the ball if need be. Ol' Stump may bring some tricks out of the bag that Lee hasn't seen for this one. Hopefully.......
