The primary reason I said that Nederland's chances have dropped dramatically is due to the recent news article and developments on the team.  There appears to be dissention on the team and that is a huge distraction. However, if you read one of my other previous posts, I said that Neuman can turn this around and quell some of the anxiety with a win, and they are playing Vidor.  Playing at Vidor might be a blessing in disguise for the team, because they might not have as many fans at the game as they would if they were playing at home, and they can focus more on the game.  A win will do wonders, and a strong performance would be icing on the cake.  This could be the turning point for Nederland and a win would give them momentum and confidence.  But, that remains to be seen.  A loss, and the storm would surely intensify.

Fair enough. Thanks for the response. Makes sense. I have known about the lineman quitting for several days and thought it was going to be kept quiet. I did not know that he had transferred to PN-G and I am guessing that is why the news came out. If he is allowed to play, then I think it is an absolutley ridiculous ruling. Also, Nederland is still not at full strength like I thought they might be this week. Trevin Sonnier will be held out once again. This is a big injury for the Dogs.

after talking to some of Ozen football players they are [b]NOT[/b][size=10pt][glow=red,2,300][/glow][/size] looking past central matter of fact they are completely focused on central. So be prepared to see Ozen play with a level of intensity you havent seen in a long time from a panther squad.. And this is the mentality that they are going in with each week. They are taking this season one game at a time

      It’s been awhile, but I seem to remember 5 D starters out & 2 O starters out (OL). A big difference is that Simon wasn’t involved yet. He’s totally changed LP’s rushing attack from last year as a bruising, explosive addition to Barnes, Sandolph & Bright. Last year—and early this season—LP was missing that element. Now, Coach Berneathy is not making talented players wait like many other coaches & even his predecessors at LP. If the kid can produce at the varsity level, they’re moved up. And man, has Simon produced! Over 1200 yards & 20 TD’s in less than a full season so far! It’s allowed LP to alternate RB’s where Barnes doesn’t take all the pounding. Barnes and Sandolph are also able to split out as receivers as desired to add threats that weren’t really an option last year. The PNG/LP game was a full-on tilt & good for both squads. I remember Gary Joseph in the end zone giving his son pointers as an extra set of eyes since he’d had experience with LP in past PO matchups. That was a good game. The score wasn’t really indicative of the game. Not sure anyone felt it was over until the final whistle! Good luck to y’all in Cajun Country. Bring back a win for SE Texas. (Yes. La Porte is still SETX. Ha!)
