Hotrodg
I'll ask the same question I do every time this question comes up.What do you define as "best"?The team that would be all others in theoritical head to head play? The team with the best/most dominant season from a stats POV?The team that had the most eventual D1/NFL players? Are you talking about a single season or multiple?Only in the state of Texas or Nationally?Depending which definition you use, the answer will vary wildly even from the most objective poster. The conversation is much more interesting, in my opinion, if you tighten up the parameters of the discussion.

baddog
Nederland played that team twice and lost by the same spread. However, except for (I think) Texas City, we played them closer than any other team. They were beating teams, after our playoff loss, by 50-60 points and shutting some out. They won state going undefeated. If some 90s team was better, then that is scary.

As far as best ever I would have to go with D-field '83 or Yates '

Footballfan94
I know yall talking some big schools, but take a look at Hull Daisetta back in the 30's. Here is a link to a PDF of a write up. http://www.hdisd.net/docs/1-1930s%20Record.pdfIn 1936, they only allowed their opponents to score once, and that was the bidistrict game, and it was only 6pts!!!! The following year, 1937, 4 opponents scored, 32pts, and 12 came in the regional game. 1938 was undefeated as well and they finally lost against Humble in the last game in 1939. 43 consecutive wins. Most of the games the opponents were held to 0pts!!!!! Now thats not to bad for a little old Liberty County school!!!!!!!
