Southeast Texas Coaches Association to Honor Curtis Barbay

Last week, SETCA honored Reggie Garrett with a memorial sticker which was distributed to all of SETX area high schools.

This week, SETCA will honor Curtis Barbay with  a memorial helmet sticker.  It will be a purple sticker with the initials CB in white.  It will also be worn for the remainder of the year.

I would like to thank all of the coaches that are making this happen.  Last week, we at Anahuac were able to help make this happen.  This week other coaches are helping to "pick up the ball".  As coaches, we all have many talents, however is the ability to show compassion has to be at the top. 

Thanks to Mr Bruce Reyes, David Martell, Brian Huckabay, Micheal Broussard, Jeremy Abshier, Darrell Barbay, Brian Barbay, Kevin Barbay, Scott Tidwell, Bobby McGallion, Brad Morgan, Tony Valastro, Mike Stewart, Brandon Faircloth, John Borne, Trent Wallace, Calvin Nichols and the 10-2A superintendents for your help last week.

I would also like to thank Sport Decals for their generous donations over the past two weeks.  By the time it is all said and done, they will have donated over 5,000 memorial stickers at no cost to us.

The service for Coach Barbay last night was absolutely beautiful, stunning, and very fitting for a man that touched so many lives.

A well deserved tribute for Coach Barbay, but I sure do hope this is the last sticker we have to put on helmets this year.
