I think it is the "Any given Friday" effect. You never know what any team is capable of on game night good or bad. I think BC supprised  more than a few especially Menard. He is a heck of a QB. I think the Cats gave BC their best just failed to make adjustments until later in the game. When WOS starting throwing those short passes their game started comming together. If they had started that sooner who knows how things could have gone.

Skip it was that darn spread offense /zone read that was eating us up early on,Kirbyville is always slow out of the gate, usually middle ways of the second quarter they start to hitting on all cylinders..WO-S is faster on the defensive side of the ball than BC in my opinion..The one you have to control for BC is Menard you give him the slightest chance and He will 5&6 yd you all night long,And He can also break for some good yardage...Taking nothing from the BC team as a whole,But He is what makes BC go...Control Menard if you can,You can control the game...Good Luck to the Mustangs...

BC was homecoming week and I dont think they was looking past BC I just dont think their defense showed up like it should have.  I think that going into WOS they knew they had to be all in.

WOS definetly has the better D!  They are quick to the ball and have very good team pursuit.

As for Offense its hard to say.  If you was comparing them compared based soley on how they played that given night then BC excuted better and utilized Menard in the Spread.  WOS had so many other factors its not really fair to use this game as a comparison though.

I think that with a few more weeks behind them and the new offense getting some more time Hooks will have them executing better and WOS gets my predition.

In my opinion and of those sitting with me, WOS watered down the offense for the new QB and that made a difference.  We were all wondering if the QB could throw at all because they didn't throw until late.  I know they had the big play near the end of the first half but that was a half back pass.  Turns out he can throw.  If WOS had thrown the ball in the first half it could of been a different ball game.  When they threw they had open receivers.

Their D was better than Bridge City's by a lot.

Just my opinion.

Skip, the WOS offense from Saturday and the offense in the next few weeks will be two different animals. Hard to go into a game against a team like Kville with a first start for your QB. He will get better every game.

The WOS QB did an outstanding job under the circumstances. As a matter of fact although he will undoubtably improve next week and in the future plenty of teams would be proud to have him just as he was Saturday.

Well said kville....He showed a lot of poise and disciplined himself, did not get rattled..That shows a lot right there,And he knew Kirbyville was gonna try to get him off his game..WO-S will be just fine...A couple of more games a little more confidence for the Qb and they're off to the races...
