SPIN... SPIN... SPIN...

I guess young Christopher is not aware of what South Alabama is doing compared to Lamar. It is much easier to schedule when you are a counter (see Lamar) compared to not being one (see South Alabama), especially when teams need at least seven Div I wins to qualify for the playoffs...

Their clock truly begins next year - year three. See their schedule then?

I'm not saying Lamar's schedule is worse than South Alabama's, because it isn't - but that was just a bogus and ill-informed article that makes for good locker room material.

That is the direction South Alabama wanted to go. They could have been a "counter" if they wanted to go in that direction (See Lamar).

They have only played one other FCS team (Nicholls State) and won 39-21 in Mobile. This is their first true road game so I don't see this article being at the top of the list for motivating their players.

In an interview a month or two ago Woodard specifically talked about the path Lamar wanted to take starting up the program.  He said that from talking to different folks at Lamar, around SETX, and from other recent startup programs, they decided to build up the program fast and not take the slow approach.  I think "young Christopher" is well aware of what South Alabama is doing, and the article is just contrasting the two approaches.  Not sure what the big deal is.

well, that makes 4 or 5 suckers that read his article....guess he'll get a passing grade in his high school journalism class now.

Different strokes for different folks....I gotta admit, I'm impressed that USA is drawing the numbers they are, considering their opponents.  Don't think Lamar would have good crowds vs. prep schools...which I'm sure they took into consideration when making LU's schedule.

Go Big Red!

The "SPIN" is TT trying to make something negative about LU.  He does that every chance he gets.  I can't understand his motivation to constantly make negative comments.  Does anyone know if he had a prior unpleasant experience with Lamar that fuels his hatered?

What, besides our terrible men's basketball team knocking the Bob Marlin coached Kats out of the SLC tournament a few years.

TT seems to think Coach Marlin wasn't a good tournament coach yet they almost beat Baylor and he is now off to greener pastures at ULL.  :D :D

At least the Cajuns average more than 2,000 per men's home game.

Good journalism would mean that "young Christopher" would have explained why there were two different paths - one by Lamar, one by USA. This one pretty much just gives USA some bulletin board material. There's a reason for everything and by not explaining it, just confuses the ill-informed populace who does not read SETX or BRI.

Again - explain why USA is doing one thing and why Lamar is doing another...

Each start-up program is different. Beaumont Enterprise comes off as if they are "slamming" South Alabama for their approach. Let's remind ourselves of the end result of each respective startup...

I finally agree as each of us started up our programs in a different fashion but you won't know the results of which is best with this game or in a year or two.

It is the long term results that are in the best interest for Lamar and I assume for USA.
