Guest ECBucFan Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Watched it on tape today. About every 5 minuits, ESPN would feature "this athlete is going to UT", then 5 minuits later, "that athlete is going to UT", then 5 minuits later, "this other athlete is going to UT, too", and then "UT has the number one recruiting class" and on and on and on, ad nauseum. ::)Seriously, when the halftime arrived, I though to myself "Thank goodness we can get away from the Longhorn promotions, even if its just for the halftime". WRONG! Right after the commercials, guess who appears on the screen? MACK BROWN. An interview with MACK BROWN filled most of the halftime. Arrrggg! >:(
SHSTIGER Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 The answer to your problem is really quite simple. Start beating and outrecruit them. It's not Texas' or Mack Brown's fault that the viewing public tend to tune in to watch winners, not losers. The game was a laugher by the end of the 1st quarter so they had to have a lot of filler material. If the Aggies would step up and do something other than losing everytime they are put on TV, I'm sure ESPN would have some of their stuff ready to go.
Guest ECBucFan Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 I don't have a "problem" of beating UT. Where on earth did you get that from? I don't care about A&M either. I think you made some assumptions here. "Beating UT" is pretty easy this year, anyhow. UCLA blew them out of the stadium on national TV, then OU beat them soundly, too. Horns are not even in the top 25, and face Top Ten Nebraska next. Why exactly does ESPN glorify UT anyway? It was a free recruiting commerical for UT. Maybe they do need it? LOL! ;D

They did mention Herschel Sims and commitment to OSU a number of times.
Guest ECBucFan Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Did you miss all the graphics they put up, giving the rankings of the UT recruits? They droned on about ex Horn Cedric Benson, too.
