Scoring puts a lot of pressure on the other teams offense to match what you've done. Not a lot of teams are prepared to feel they have to score when they get the ball, causing them to turn the ball over trying to do too much and stuff they are not accustom to doing... Guest slsblab
Just my opinion on Vidor shutting down LCM offense. Vidors offense kept LCM to limited offensive possessions by running the ball and clock. And LCM had several dropped passes which killed a few drives which is unusual for LCM receivers. One LCM series ended in a fumble. When you have limited possessions dropped passes and a fumble and still score 28 and have just under 400 yds, you weren't shutdown. The credit should go to Vidors offense for controlling the ball and the clock.

As far as the question about great offenses or bad defenses in this district, look over the pre-district. Lots of points being scored against all teams! Does anyone here actually think that any team in this district will rack up 28+ on the likes of Brenham, Dayton, Montgomery, FWood or what looks to be a solid El Campo? Because with these defenses in 20 4A thats what its gonna take to get a W over these teams.
football04
Right now region 3 is controlled by the likes of Brenham, Dayton and Friendswood and I don't see anyone in our district beating these teams right now, but whoever comes out of our district will give anyone else a run for their money. I would put 20-4A against any district in the state on a top to bottom matchup, our #1 may not beat their #1, but we will win more games than the other district, let Ozen go play anyone in any other district right now that hasn't won a district game and I bet it is a blowout. Guest slsblab
20 4A puts up big numbers because the teams play to their strengths. They have great skill players and QB,s. LCM can throw the ball on anyone. PNG has good balance and Central has great talent and speed. I am not saying they will beat teams from other districts because the truth is I haven't seen all the other teams as no one else on here has. But these are high school teams to say they cannot beat these other teams is just an opinion. Maybe 20 4A can outscore these teams, Texas Tech won alot of games doing it under Leach. The offenses in 20 4A are very diverse and skilled. It makes good conversation but no one really knows how these different teams would match up. By the way 3A WOS gave Friendswood all they could handle earlier this year, so anything could happen.

DogOne
I agree with slsblab. I think the offenses are too multi-dimensional for the defenses to stop consistently. For instance, PNG has a great passing game while also being able to run it down your throat. Even Ozen has a dynamic offense with a quarterback who can pass and run. Nederland can move the ball with Forney passing or run it with #9 out of the wildcat. Central showed against Nederland that they have a passing attack to go with their strong running game. LCM has a great offense with their fast QB and WRs. These are 4A teams who only have so many quality athletes and it seems that everyone in 20-4A is putting their athletes on the offensive side of the ball. At least this season.
