KFDM reports in their newscast to night that a letter was sent to the UIL and to all the schools in 20-4A that LCM could have a player ineligible. The player in question had played for WOS last year and transfered to LCM this year. A question to his residence status has the possibility of the player being ruled ineligible.

If the UIL does rule that the player is indeed ineligible, LCM will have to forfeit all it's games that this player played in.

Stay tuned for further info on this story.

UPDATE:  there is NO indication of any reason the player should be ruled ineligible. LC-M has made contact with both the UIL & disitrict chair and are in process of showing all documentation.

Freidman reported it during his newscast. It was right after the piece they did on LCM's game this week with PNG.

If this is true, that is too bad for the team.  Coaches know the rules and the whole team suffers?

Very sad for the team.... guess its also possible (if true) they could win out and still qualify for postseason play? Maybe?

Doubtful. If they have to forfeit all of their district victories to date, that would leave them at 0-4 in district.  It is not impossible, but unlikely.

The sad thing is that the coaches know the rules and decide to risk getting caught knowing what it will coat the entire team if they do. No player no matter how good is worth destroying all of these young men's hard work and efforts. May be it will turn out to be untrue. Best of luck to all of the LCM team hope it turns out ok for you. Your whole team has shown a lot of class and sportsmanship this season.

Well, let's let all of the facts get out before pointing fingers here.  We don't know if the player is indeed ineligible, that is being investigated.  If he is, let's not automatically assume the level of knowledge that anyone on the coaching staff had.

I believe that is a moot point.  LCM has opened their enrollment to anyone from any district.  Doesn't matter where you live, if you want to go to LCM you can.  And if a kid played at WOS last year, the proper documents were signed by all coaches involved.  I hate that someone is starting something like this.
