Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Kendrick Bernard and Chip Ambres
bruiser92 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Chip Ambres hands down was the best QB in WB History. James Brown and Kendrick Bernard are close seconds. James Brown had very talented receivers and two future NFL offensive linemen protecting. Chip just made it happen.
TradinUp BH Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 James Brown and Gerald Landry, followed by Chip Ambres

Landry is the only one to win a state championship.
bruinoriginal Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Was in the huddle with Landry , no doubt he was the best, hands down. Brown was good, but Gerald was better.
besbolbenbedygud Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 been a long while since i've posted but I love this question.Love the list too. how bout.......... imagine any of these guys in todays spread. Chip in the spread??? OMG!!! have to give some love to Joe Fontenot when this question comes up. but the money goes down on the one with the ring..... ;)
SFA85 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 The 1 with the ring and that would be Gerald Landry. Then Brown, and Chip....
Jackthehammer Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Those 3 were all great. Dont think anyother stands out as well as these 3

82Champs Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Gerald Landry without a doubt. He made so many fantastic plays (with his arm and his feet) under playoff/championship pressure. James & Chip are close but like others have said Gerald has the ring. There were several plays in the championship run that were "make the play" or WB gets eliminated and Gerald would make the play. One of many examples, the 4 down & 17 to go against Houston Memorial when time was almost running out. Gerald "under pressure" throws a strike to Colbert for the first down.

Too young to know Landry...sorry, but He's not the name you hear when people talk about '82. Who would you say were the top 3 impact players of the '82 team? Include defense and special teams. Is Landry one?
WeedBegone Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Mrs Landry drove Da team bus. She was the WB SGT of the 80's ;Dand she could butch slap you also. ;)
Djones8301 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I can only speak for who I have seen in person but I have to go with Chip and then Brown
SASQUASH22 Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Gerald Landry without a doubt was the best QB ever @ WB ! Who else has won a State Championship @ the Brook ? Don't forget he also lead the 1981 Beaumont Hebert Panthers to the 4-A State Semi-Finals losing to eventual State Finalist Houston Willowridge. The Willowridge team featured 2007 NFL Hall of Fame Inductee Thurman Thomas who played RB. Thomas intercepted a Gerald Landry pass late in the game to seal the victory for the Eagles. The remaining list of talented WB Quarterbacks include the following and their rank in my opinion:2. James Brown3. Chip Ambres4. Kendrick Bernard5. Bruce Reyes6. James Guidry
