Guest Two-Dogs... Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Easily Jeff "the jet" Bergeron
Jackthehammer Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 The best that I got to see was Dustin Long I watched him 2 or 3 times his senior year. Ask the Lamarque fans about him. He put on a display against them over in the dome one night. I watched alot of great football games in the dome that year. I saw Garland, Katy, PNG , Lamarque, Brazosport, Waller, Nederland, Stephensville, and many more I cant remember.
NDNWarrior Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I'd have to say Dustin Long. It was amazing to watch him play.
Jackthehammer Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I never got to see Jeff Bergeron play so I cant say him. Not saying he was not the best.
Tiger33 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I would say Dustin Long because he is one of the QB I have ever played against.
whsalum Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Jeff "the jet" Bergeron. They don't come along everyday with that kind of ability.
prepballfan Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Id have to go with D. Long from 1999. It was awsome to watch him walk up to the line read the defense change the play and take it to em.
Squaw1 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I saw both Jeff and Dustin play several times, and both were great, but Jeff is undoubtedly the best high school player I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of good players. Jeff was an All American; Dustin was not.
pngfan1 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Jeff Bergeron offense. Ted Brack defense.
smitty Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 This one is easy: Jeff Bergeron. If he had Doug Ethridge as his coach, PNG would have won at least 2 more State Championships.
player66 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 I forgot his first name, but McGill was one of the best HS runningbacks ever I saw. Never saw "Jet", but I have taken McGill over Long anyday

I believe that was the Danny Malone coached Indians there and a lot of talent on that team as well ;)

Not sure about the best but he was a tough runner with alot of speed.
liltex Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Folks from all over setx came to watch Bergeron. He's 1 of my top 5 hs backs to ever see in a game.
oldollie Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Jeff the Jet!! You can tell there are alot of young people on this board if they say anyone else!! ;D

PNG's had a lot of "talent" over the years, but someone like Jeff Bergeron only comes around every 50 or so years. He had more than just talent--he was the only RB we had that could ever be compared to Gordon LeBoeuf (God rest his soul). They were players that had a God-given talent that can't be taught or learned; it was just natural. I'm still waiting for us to have another natural like they were.

Guest Two-Dogs... Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 This question is discussed in depth on the PNG board.
