Bobcat1 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 I don't see why we couldn't do it...I hope it passes Monday!
Armchair Quarterback Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Some in the OF community have been trying to get swimming at the school for over 2 years.Looks like after tonight's school board meeting it is no closer to being an option for kids at OF.Sure wish something like this would not get shuffled around the school board "table" for this long.Other schools are successful with a "parent sponsored" swimming program...why not give it a chance at OF?Would love to get input from others involved with successful "parent sponsored" swimming programs on howwe at OF can make this work for the kids that want to represent OF in swimming.
Cat22 Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 What exactly does "parent sponsored" mean?
HillGuy Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 BH began a swimming program in 2008 and it has been very popular with students, and its starting to have some success in competition. I think they use Baytown Sterling's pool, since we don't have one on campus.
Guest shake and bake Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 LCM has a swim team. I think they get a teacher to sponsor them(not sure) . They do fundraising like everyone else and also do they Booster Club fundraiser. Booster Club does help them some.
