Rupp is, in your case, 0-2 on District Championships at GCM. WhatHappened? Posted November 18, 2010 Author Report Posted November 18, 2010 O man here we go for the past year.did you attend the game? How many times did BH have lead off walks against Chance. 2 walks. how many did they bunt over 0. how many times did BH have one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd and didnt squeeze them in... 3 times!! terrible coaching. The hitters for BH just needed to sit offspeed against Chance. That is all he threw. How many times did BH work on offspeed hitting only in practice(didnt attend but talked to players) 0! They threw Grayson Long( nothing against him) but as for that year he didnt throw asmany games as Leggett and to start him in that big of a game was a bad decision. The coach for BH last year ruined a lot of games for them. Gaurentee that it wont happen for them this year.

I know your son throws on the left side and not dogging him he is a great pitcher and doing well at Angelina, but its easier for righties to hit off lefties
9Doggies Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 If Rupp starts the Freshman Lefty and loses he gets run out of town. Good decision. Wish i could remember his name he's got some serious movement on the ball and is a bulldog when he toes the rubber. I was impressed.

The lefty sophmore is going to be tuff. Rupp knows what he is doing.
The best thing about that lefty sophomore is that he has finally decided to focus on baseball. Tremendous upside. He's not going to over-power anyone, but he's fearless and he can flat out pitch.
Nothing better for a righty hitter to swing off a lefty. Easy to see the ball, outside pitches go right into the barrell of the bat, inside pitches go into the body.
Yep. It's that easy.
With practice and training with a good coach it is.
I guess those kids from Nederland were poorly coached and had very little training and practice.
Thats why they won district last year? hahahaLearn the facts.
What are you talking about? Facts? That "little lefty" came in during game two of the playoffs last year and shut the 20-4A district champs down. GCM still lost the game and the series, but I think they got their attention. Why do you think a Nederland fan was the one to bring him up?
If he shut them down why did they lose the game? little bit confused.... I didnt know you could lose the game if the other team scored 0 points?
Well, I'll try and explain it to you. Team A is the home team. Team B is the visiting team. A regulation baseball game in high school is 7 innings. Team B bats first and let's say scores 3 runs. Team A bats next and scores 0 runs. At that point, the game is NOT over. The two teams alternate at bats(this occurs after you get the other team "out" three times) with neither team scoring any more runs for several innings. Later in the game Team B gets several more hits (what some people call a rally) and score 2 more runs (or points). Team A's coach could/should possibly elect to make a pitching change, that is take out the pitcher of record and insert a new pitcher in that players position. (Maybe a "little lefty" ;) ) That new "little lefty" pitcher then prevents Team B from scoring any more runs by what I would call "shutting them down". However, beacuse of what some would equate to poor coaching, Team A just can not score runs and they end up losing the game. :'(So the moral of this story: You do not have to be the winnig pitcher or starting pitcher to effectively shut down a team.
