Toughest non-conference home game on Dec 22:

#179 Canisius - Griffs will miss F. Turner at PG slot, but have improved by 4-5 games every yr with this senior class -- 19 wins this yr?
I have literally NEVER heard of that school.

Canisius is the type of school Lamar should be working to schedule over La. College and others.  These mid to bottom half D-1 conferences while not well known would serve LU much better with home and home contracts than the D2 and lower games at home.  They are out of the Metro Atlantic conference and have made several trips to the NCAA in the past the last few years Sienna has been at or near the top of that conference.  I would prefer teams better known to the area but if you mix games with teams out of several simalar conferences it would be good.

When I first say the schedule I thought Roc had scheduled 5 non-D1 schools...then I looked them up and noticed they were a D1 school.  I agree where geezer, Lamar should be playing these types of schools and not the non-D1 schools.

Thats funny, because they probably have a post that looks like this on their site:

#243 Lamar - Backcourt trio A Miles, K Harris and C Harper and top-10 recruiting class should make the Cardinals dangerous this season.

I have literally NEVER heard of that school. And why are we scheduling bottom feeding DI schools llike Lamar anyway? ;D

#157 Stephen F Austin - Returning three top scorers from balanced offensive attack, expect the Lumberjacks near the top of the conference.

Who's left on the schedule?  Texas, TAMU-CC and SHSU?

TAMU-CC came in at

#191 TAMU-CC - Seniorss J. Reynolds (10/6/1) and D. Watt (13/8/2) should provide an exciting frontcourt duo for the Islanders this year.

Looks like SHSU is the team to beat in the conference:

#105 Sam Houston St - The Bearkats will rely on juco transfers and new coach J. Hooten to stem the loss of backcourt.

Their best frontcourt player (Clavell) is also a juco transfer.  I still believe that in the SLC you have to recruit a lot of juco players because it's near impossible to recruit top notch HS players every year.

aawn just letting you know it is since not sense so lay off the raider about grammar lmao
I haven't given raider a hard time about grammar.  However, I do know the difference between since and sense.  If you want to have a spelling, grammar, word definition, or overall intelligence competition I am certainly game.  lmao.

#226 SE Louisiana - The Lions need srs T. Hutchin (11/1) and G. Dixon (8/1) to replace P. Sullivan (16/9/2) and D. Forest (11/2).

Forgive me, but who gives a crap about SE La?

Another early season opponent at the SMU tourney:

#220 Portland St - No postseason carrot b/c of APR violations means this is a throwaway season for Tyler Geving's Vikings.

Who cares?

SHSU 105 and LU 243...how sad....and what is even more depressing is the fact that 243 is a very good ranking for us relatively speaking.  (Post 1988 teams or is it 1987...when was the last time we were decent?)

These rankings are very similar to last year's season ending RPIs.
It's probably the easiest way to rank them. I doubt the people at RTC actually know a little about all 300+ teams.

And finally:

#35 Texas - Rick Barnes is trying to put the wheels back on after collapse. Longhorns have plenty of talent, but can chemistry improve?

I'll be at that game when Lamar pulls the upset.  ;D
