Doty is a great QB i gotta go with him
He is, but that taunting he did against Vidor is ridiculous.

I watched the game on the computer, but I was never able to see that.  I guess I skipped through it somehow.

He wasn't taunting the fans but a certain someone on the Vidor sideline (who I rather not identify).

Here's another question....Who cares? All these "who is the best" threads turn into a homer contest and end up with people talking crap on a kid or talking crap on a school. All 3 have had great seasons and Mitchell is going to be something else these next two years. It is going to be a tough vote for the coaches when voting for All-District this year. I find it hilarious that people act with shock that someone would pick one over another that doesn't line up with their opinion.

Just out of curiosity, how can you pick the best QB in 20 4A when you leave one completly out?  Livingston is not even on your lists.  I'm not saying that he would be the best in the district, but you have to at least include him in the group.

Here’s the site, if you can figure out which name or which Collins to use, go for it.  www.beaumontenterprise.com/huddle

Chavesti, Chevoski or Cheveski not sure if it’s the same person or brothers on the team, all I can tell you is #14 is the QB/CB and he is a good athlete.

Hands down:  Brennen Doty (PNG)
This statement is funny... Doty has been out  performed by a statistical measure.  And well outperformed!  Not to mention he has thrown 3 more picks and has nowhere near the rushing TD's... It is a Gonzo / Green battle by far.  Doty is a great talent but these ifs, ands, & maybes don't count!! The REAL proof is in the numbers!!!!

PNG people kill me.   Green from Ozen, and to take a quote from indian nation "Hands Down"  That kid is fantastic.

If your talking about who is the best QB as far as MVP wise, it would have to be Green.  If your talking about best QB athlete, again, I would go with Green. Granted they are 0 for, but without him, they would get killed.  If your talking about true dual threat, stat wise, I would have to go with Gonzales.  If your talking about QB talent at the next level, would have to go with Doty, much better arm and accuracy than the others.

Numbers don't always mean everything....if that were the case, Jarrod Johnson would have been at the Heismann party with Colt McCoy last year.  Gonzo=no playoffs, no district championships.......Green=no playoffs, no district championships........Doty=playoff runS, 10-0 premier, and a district championship.  The real proof is in winning.

Aside from that, you are failing to mention in your stats statement that Doty leads in completions, completion %, passing td's, and is 2nd in passing yards.  The true stat is more than likely in the QB Rating: Doty 105, Gonzales 111, and Green 115.  However, I go with the wins over the stats.

I would agree that Doty is the most accurate and looks the part of a Saturday QB, but I was very impressed with Greens arm. I think if he had an offensive line that didn't have him running for his life at the snap of the ball and always throwing on the run, he would be more accurate. I also think that if PNG didn't have such a good running game, Doty's numbers would be even better. I think Gonzo has done all he could do and the numbers show it, fantastic.

Sooooo,
District MVP: Damon Heard
Offensive MVP: Hunter Gonzales
Newcomer of the Year: Green, Bertrand or Mitchell

1st team QB: Brennan Doty

The Johnson / McCoy analysis would be applied to Gonzo / Green!!! Gonzo would be the best QB with Green losing because his team is not performing... Still leaving Doty 3rd!!! Which is really unfair because he would be the best QB in the area any other year!!

    • SMH Silsbee will not tank against WO-S. Just won't happen. Mustangs were just that much better than Silsbee. Besides, #3 seed basically has to play the same teams as #2 seed other than first round. From what I saw with Sweeny and Brookshire, BR was the better team than Sweeny.
    • For sure.  They can take it to anyone if they want it, and if they play with the intensity that they had last Thursday.  Last Thursday game reminded me of the last 2 season's teams.
    • The numbers on those charts reflect all age groups and not just HS age Students. Another thing to remember,  some parents of school age kids might work in neighboring districts and choose to have their child in the district they are employed.  Not always the case but it is something to remember
    • We have a new apartments complex being built in Mont Belvieu. You’re going to need to update that chart.😂
