If they want to look stupid and stay in the locker room the I say, who cares. I bet some of these same people that are complaining are the same people that are sitting in the stands complaining to the person next to them (about their perfect little angel not making cheerleader) rather than partcipating in the anthem anyway.
I agree with the statement about people complaining but not the statement about staying in the locker room. By you saying "who cares" That is the attitude of this generation, which is sad. Pretty much sums up the generation of today. Can't wait till some of you get older. Your thought process will change. But guess what? Your kids will not be there to help you in time of need. All they want you to do is die so they can get some money which they don't have because they spent it on you.
Sorry but I have to disagree with you because I am part of "this" generation. It aint ALL of us.
Read my previous post, I did say not all kids. (2 post above yours)
Bleed, I understand your concern for the youth and it's troubling. If we drugged tested students, teachers, law enforcement, clergy, refinery workers, business people between 1968-1978 from Spurger to Sabine Pass the ratio would be higher than it is today. What a shame.
30% ??? Check the last few years of presidential election results. Except for the last electionover 50% of population dont vote. Biggest show of respect is to use the rights given to you at thecost of veteran. Blood and Life sacrifices. The " I deserve it" generations have been here for awhile. There are exceptions within those generations. They are the ones who have seen or felt the price paid.Just my opinion.
I know this maybe on the wrong blog and i should have posted it on Rush limbaugh or somewhere. But speaking of respect and we just had the election I have a question. Why doesn't THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES get the respect he deserves. I know some of us don't like some decisions he makes, his skin color, or what ever the reason may be. This is not the first President that we have not agree with 100% of the time and I have never witness anything like what this man has gone thru. Like I said I know this is probably the wrong place for this but just reading some of the statements on here about Crosby not coming out for the National athem. I began to wonder being a veteran and serving this country why do we treat our President like that or anyone and then turn around and get mad at a coach are kids for not coming out for the National Athem is mind boggling to me.
You make a good point. But if this President would show respect for the flag himself by either saluting it or covering his heart rather than his crotch salute then he would make getting respect easier for himself. While he is indeed our leader---he should be more humble to this position and what it stands for. I do sincerely respect the position of PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, but the person holding that position must honor and treat it with respect also.
the kids of today are not to blame for the direction society has taken. They (kids today) still know the difference between right and wrong. They(kids) are still responsible for their on actions. I know there are some kids who have crappy parents and don't get good values at home,(which I believe should be the parents job) but they do get it from school. My kids know they better say yes maam yes sir etc.... Respect for others adult and peers...

Some of the young people I deal with today are some of the brightest and work their tail off.
Are any of them your boss, just wondering?
Dang....where you live thats so bad? ;DI guess you can say they are my boss. They run businesses, entrepreneurs, plumbers, contractors, and tech people, all under 35, making payrolls.
Good luck my friend. they will put you out to pasture before you want to. The kids of the 60's and 70's were not so bad. Puff the magic dragon, they do now believe me.
I always tell my wife when we retire (if thats possible ) we will have to put bars on the windows and doors to keep this present "I want it now" generation from stealing us blind !

Then you need to move to the other side of the river where our kids expect better than what we've got. ;)
Other side of the river, like that makes a difference. Your kids are better? That remains to be seen. Kids are the same no matter what side of the river they are on. Stupid post.
Back atcha Bud---you missed the point. Lighten up. I ain't stupid and you offended me---I got feelings you know---I need a moderator and now. ;)
Don't care if I offended you. ;D ;D
As a parent, I accepted the responsibility of shaping and molding my kids to become members of a productive society. I have high expectations of them and lots of confidence along with it. It would be foolish of me to say that the kids of today are lazy and non-productive when I have had a hand in this. BTW--I do not need to say where my kids are, but they do not in any form or fashion fit the description that some parents describe of the kids today. All three of my kids are on a much better pace than i ever dreamed of. I also have witnessed many of their friends on the same pathways to success. Now if you have a problems with kids today and have not contributed anything towards this then I can understand your insecure feeling. But I will go to sleep tonight comfortably knowing that some day, my kids will have the unfortunate responsibility to make descisions on my behalf and that they will do the right thing. I regret that you seem to not have that same feeling. The fact that you say you dont care---perhaps is the root of your negativiety in todays youthful society.
Its not your kids I'm worried about and I commend you and other parents like you for a job well done ! ,but if you think the world is better off today than when you were a kid then you are truly in denial . I'm not a doomsayer but its obvious to me that society has taken a wrong turn so I'm going to prepare for the worst and hope for the best ! ;)
how has society taken a wrong turn?i may be young but all my life my grndparents, my dad, and my uncle have always told me stories of their days of youth and even they say that the ONLY difference with today and yesterday are rules and regulations basically... (i may be wording what im meaning a little wrong)but basically, it's not the people that are changing... people have been this way since the cavemen.... rules get stricter and easier to break and have harsher punishments when you do so.... Tyrone_Biggums
I can't wait until I have kids, I'm going to make sure they go into coaching so I can convince them to always come out late. This will ensure that there will be a thread for me to read that allows me to burn 20 minutes. P.S. I also thought it was funny that Barack almost got blamed for Flanny and Gagey-boy skipping the anthem. It could have been so sweet with a little more elaboration. rollinac
Just like every town has a few idiots so does every generation. Every generation since the dawn of man has said this about the following generation. There's even some silverbacks in the jungle saying the young apes just don't have what it takes....Ridiculous
