As a parent, I accepted the responsibility of shaping and molding my kids to become members of a productive society.  I have high expectations of them and lots of confidence along with it.  It would be foolish of me to say that the kids of today are  lazy and non-productive when I have had a hand in this.  BTW--I do not need to say where my kids are, but they do not in any form or fashion fit the description that some parents  describe of the kids today.  All three of my kids are on a much better pace than i ever dreamed of.  I also have witnessed many of their friends on the same pathways to success.  Now if you have a problems with kids today and have not contributed anything towards this then I can understand your insecure feeling. But I will go to sleep tonight comfortably knowing that some day, my kids will have the unfortunate responsibility to make descisions on my behalf and that they will do the right thing.  
I regret that you seem to not have that same feeling.  The fact that you say you dont care---perhaps is the root of your negativiety in todays youthful  society.

[/quote] Its not your kids I'm worried about and I commend you and other parents like you for a job well done ! ,but if you think the world is better off today than when you were a kid then you are truly in denial . I'm not a doomsayer but its obvious to me that society has taken a wrong turn so I'm going to prepare for the worst and hope for the best ! ;)

i may be young but all my life my grndparents, my dad, and my uncle have always told me stories of their days of youth and even they say that the ONLY difference with today and yesterday are rules and regulations basically... (i may be wording what im meaning a little wrong)
but basically, it's not the people that are changing... people have been this way since the cavemen....
rules get stricter and easier to break and have harsher punishments when you do so....

I can't wait until I have kids, I'm going to make sure they go into coaching so I can convince them to always come out late.  This will ensure that there will be a thread for me to read that allows me to burn 20 minutes.

P.S.  I also thought it was funny that Barack almost got blamed for Flanny and Gagey-boy skipping the anthem.  It could have been so sweet with a little more elaboration.
