I'd say it helped alot...

Were losing 3 out of 4 receivers and our QB. We return our HB, a good receiver and most of the defense. No doubt, we will reload and be ready for next year... Good luck to everybody else in region 3... Especially Montgomery... Make 17-4A proud.

But we have Central who may have something to say about that.
cubfan12 Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Just thought I would chime in, haven't been on in a while and I love the SETX passion. Just wanted to say congratulations to Kingwood Park and good luck to you and to Dayton in Round 2. I also wanted to correct the folks who have indicated that we were looking past KP. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our coaches learned back in '07 when we were upset in the 1st round by Austin LBJ to never look past anyone in the playoffs. They knew KP had some talent and would play hard, and so did the kids. This was just one of those games that when something could go wrong, it did. You can't fumble the ball 4 times deep in your own territory and win against any opponent. Just too many mistakes, but I am proud of the Cubs and it says a little something about the fight in the team that they were actually still ahead with about 5 minutes left in the game. Best of luck to all the rest of the region in the playoffs, bring a title home.

Hawkeye Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Dayton fans know all about how that many turnovers can affect a game. It contributed to the Broncos losing the district champioship last year. Of course, a very tough Crosby team also contributed.
liltex Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 All I have to say is the CUB defense played well allowing 138 tot.yds and holding the panthers to fgs a cpl times early. But this is a team sport but 1/2 wasn't clicking. We know the feeling well to get to the title game and come up short and the work it takes weekly to try to make it happen again the following year.
