BADSANTA Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Which one do you feel is better for high school football and why?
SgtRey Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Da Butch....the name says it all... ;D

PURPLE 4EVER Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 The wind is less of a factor at Cardinal Stadium, and it almost seats twice as much. However, I love the double decker stadiums. The Thomas Center and the Berry Center are really great stadiums for high school foootball.
bone Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Been to both. Like LU better. JMO They show replays.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 for home field advantage---Da Butchfor bringing the whole town with you (PNG)---LU
WeedBegone Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 LU is nice and the scoreboard showing gamedame before the game is awesome. But when Da Butch soon gets bell hops to open the car door for you----now dats what Ima talkin bout. ;D
knightrider Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Da Butch is very nice, but still like L.U. stadium ;)

loopswoop12 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 If it comes down to a close game the smaller field goal posts at Lamar could be a factor IMO
Guest Ranger83 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Have not been to the Butch yet, but as a fan that would be coming from Houston, it seems more easily accessible than LU.

BADSANTA Posted November 16, 2010 Author Report Posted November 16, 2010 I think that the Silsbee and WOS games should have been played at the Butch. Is there much cost difference for each school?

At the Butch, a north or south wind is unobstructed and the field level is not sunk. Not taking anything away from the Butch, it is a great complex and something BISD should be very proud of.

NorthoftheBorder Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Provost Umphrey, and it will only get better over time with addittional improvements in the future and expanded seating capacity. Not saying the BISD stadium is not really nice. Look what having these two stadium has done for playoff games in the Golden Triangle. Can anyone tell me the last time we had that many 1st round games and any second round games in our area? Having some "home field advantage" can only help our area playoff teams.
Brazier1 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Let's do the math.Lamar (Prov-Hump)Ticket into the game $7Parking $5Or a mile walk (round trip) if your cheap. The "Butch"Ticket into the game $7Parking "Free" That's an extra boudin or nachos and a drink for the Kids.Plus the closet seats to the field in the area on the first level. And the chance to holla words of encourgement to my son.(Priceless)See ya Friday at the "Butch"How bout them Jags !!!!! Oh almost forgot to mention the best tailgating facility in the areaAnd just think what the "Butch" will have to offer after the "Waldrof Astoria at the "Butch" is opened.Probally will be $10 for parking then. So enjoy it now.

SHSTIGER Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Went to the Silsbee game Thurs. at Cardinal Stadium and the PNG game Friday. Much preferred Cardinal Stadium. Sight lines are not good at all in the upper deck, it seems like it was built too flat (needed more angle to them) or they should have been spread farther out away from the field. From the top rows you can barely see the sidelines.
