We all know that anyone is beatable on any given night and that point has been made many times...we get it!  That being said, Brownwood is the best team that I have seen in person this year...They are loaded in all 3 phases of the game and on all 3 levels on offense and defense.  Will they win state...who knows!  I'm being honest when I say that they should win it all, but stranger things have happened and that's hard to admit coming from a Stephenville alumni. 

Brownwood has always had the most arrogant fans leading up to games, but they do come back after and are very good sports win or lose....a lot like SE Texas fans, but much worse leading up to the game, trust me!

I agree with Scooter--Brownwood is a very,very,very good team. Yes, any team is beatable, but Brownwood is the real deal. I've had the oppurtunity to see them play in person this year, and they were very impressive. I hope for the sake of the teams in region 3 that you do not underestimate them.

Alright, i'm not at all worried, Liberty is a young, but definetly an improving football team so i'm not completely shocked with the WOS loss, but anyways back to topic I just wanted to say that saying "this so called monster" is a very sarcastic statement being that they haven't done anything to be called anything less than a "monster" of a football team

Have they done anything to be called a monster? Yes they are good but saying that they will run threw every team easily is saying alot. Thats why every game is played though and not on won on paper or anything else. Just on the field. If WOS does make the state game im sure the stangs will have an excellent game plan for everything thrown at them. with the coaching that this program has. i believe they can outlast alot of teams. but who knows. Lets just wait and see what happens on the field.

PLEASE can we wait and see what happens and stick to reasonable topics not saying an 11-0 team with division 1 recruits and having no trouble at all with any teams they played is not a monster? Yes WOS is good stangfan or whatever your name is but don't put down other teams to make yours sound better stick with what your team does and what your team has done is not as good as what Brownwood has done, yeah i know you cant go by whats on paper but as of now in the 2nd round thats all we have to compare wos and brownwood and im not the one comparing them you are im just saying Brownwood is cold that doesn't mean im saying wos isnt

I just have a quick question who exactly has Brownwood played?? I seen Stephensville, but who else I would like to see highlights and records on who else they have dominated that were real competitors. Just saying that things can happen people can be beat very easily state is a big game not only that its hard to get to. The pressure of that game can get to your players no matter how good they played before. Has anyone thought about experience going into these games?? Just a thought I do not know a lot about Brownwood but i have watched their highlights and they are a very good team.

I don't doubt that, but I wasn't referring that post to you....I was talking to the person that was comparing Shipley's speed to players in SE Texas.  Shipley would be one of the fastest players on the field regardless of classification or team.  Please notice that I said "one of the fastest", not "the fastest" before anyone says "Jimmy Joe from my team is faster"  ;D

That's some sound advice. There are some nice folks on there, but by and large it's a homer board. I realize every message board has homers, but that one is completely ridiculous and it's why I quit posting there a couple of years ago.

I went to see Brownwood in the opening round of the playoffs against Iowa Park. It was hard to really figure out much about them because Iowa Park had just one good athlete on the team and he had a pretty good game against them. The kid actually pulled a much more impressive version of what Sam McGuffie did and hurdled a defender on his way to a touchdown.

Shipley can play. They have two other WR's that are pretty good as well. Their QB is pretty good, but it's nothing that Class 3A hasn't seen in recent years. He's not in the Stump Godfrey or Manuel Johnson class of guys at the QB position. Forgive me for not remembering the kid's name from Jasper that was their QB in 2004, but he's not in his class either as an athlete.

Their lineplay on both sides was okay, but I can't say it was overwhelming. Shipley's offensive line that he had at Burnet in 2002 and 2003 are superior at every position up front to this one. Brownwood can play and is deserving of being ranked #1, but they aren't unbeatable.
