Lighten up there Sally...my comment in reference to officiating was from a post not too far back on this thread. I don't have to quote every single previous post to comment on it. After all, this is America where I have the right to express my opinion how I choose not how you see fit fella.
"Lighten up there, Sally" ...I'll let that one slide considering the source. However, you when copy a post and make a direct quote, then insinuate something was said that wasn't, thats a problem, "fella".  Enough of my 45 seconds on you that I will never get back.
Thanks for the board etiquette lesson and you're absolutely right...I come here to talk football not go back and forth with nonsense such as this...good day to you kind sir. I'm not baited into tit-for-tat posts and I'd hope with PNG's playoff resume you would have learned the same by now but apparently not...I don't personally know you and nor you me so cya L8trzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! I think Chase ought to be able to have a big game this week. When Manvel has played against decent team's, the rb's have fared well. The Lamarque back had over 300 yard's rushing against them. They will also give it up through the air. I have heard from someone who has seen both team's play that we will have our hand's full. He said if our defense can just play close to the way we played against Central then we will be fine. He said that if we pressure the qb's they become very inconsistent throwing the ball. He also said that Manvel will have a tough time stopping our offense but they do have the athlete's to stop us unlike Willis. So I look for another exciting game.

I've heard the same thing about both qb's.  When they get pressured, they lose their accuracy and it affects them mentally.
yeah thats what i told you after seeing the videos of them, get pressure on them and the quarterback makes a dumb choice. either keeps it and loses major yards, or throws in up. But just an observation

The question is do PNG have the athletes on their Defense to put pressure on QBs as athletic as Manvels.  Or would they simply be opening running lanes for them.  Plain & Simple... Manvel is very good and some of those games you may have scouted were district foes that has prepared for these QB's year in and year out.  Dawson pressured Manvel, but they may have the top defense in this bracket.  LaMarque is decent also, but the turnovers and Tim Wright is where the problem came in that one.  Manvel held Sante Fe, Frienswood, Texas City and plenty other decent RB's in check... Easily!  Most of these ghost rushing yards were put on the 3rd string players.  Though it should be good game, I just feel 24-4A has prepared these teams to destroy the playoffs.  Manvel by 10 or more.  If PNG is having problems stopping Willis... Wait til' they meet real speed.  On both sides of the ball.

You know what?  This Indian Nation have shown sooo much support this last weekend by showing up in mass numbers to root my Jags on.  One of which, became an official Jag fan for a day.  Sat next to me, wore a Central hat (which I've provided...  ;D ;D ) and a Maroon jacket.  I appreciate that.  So It will be so hard for me to root against this team.

My mind is telling me that PN-G will have a war on their hands just like this weekend and will lose.  My heart is telling me that the Indians will gut it out and get the 'W', by any means neccessary.  I don't care how much of a fool others may think I am, I'm rolling with the Indians all the way.

Thanks, BMTSoulja1! We were the two older PNG fans (wearing purple) sitting amidst your fans and yelling like crazy for Central! People were nice and supportive and appreciative of our support.  We appreciate your support also.  20-4A all the way is our logo!! lol PNG will win! Manvel doesn't scare us.

From the PNG site by pngfan66    EXCELLENT analysis of PNG vs. Manvel...one of the BEST posts I have ever read!

I would think any D coordinators job would be hell having to defend PNG's O ! I know they will more than likely blitz alot in hopes of catching our back in the backfield or making our QB scramble. Let em I say. We have as many offensive weapons as they do if not more. I personally am sick of hearing about how good everyone is as compared to PNG. We all know PNG had a rough start, but since some changes things have turned around. I don't care about the recognition and I don't think the team does as well. THeir focus is on the game Saturday night. They are hungry and want to win and keep advancing. I truly believe that neither our O or D has peaked yet this year. We saw a glimpse of what our D is capable of in the Central game. I feel the team as a whole is beginning to truly believe in themselves more and more as they win. THey now know they can beat the teams that everyone says is better and win. Its ingrained into their hearts and they believe it now and they are playing above their own levels of expectations. Keep it going boys and keep it in your hearts ! I can't exactly put it down on here in words what I see and feel, but I do truly believe this team can and will beat Manvel and those that follow. Something just seems to be clicking and the team is responding. Guess you could almost use the word destiny ?

Why doesnt our DEF ever blitz. When it only takes for us 1 to 2 stops a game for us to win football games you would think we would bring an all out blitz from time to time instead of making our DB's try and cover their man for like 7 to 8 seconds. I do understand the bend but dont break philosiphy but we need to start taking some chances with a blitz from time to time.
they arent blitzing so that the linebackers are in position to take away the outside run and defend short routes. Im not sure what sparks it with the Indians but they have played games this year in which they were blitz crazy most of the night and then go three weeks without hardly blitzing at all. Guess it all just dpends on the matchup. I'd like to see DJ and Lance roll some heads in the backfield myself this weekend. Maybe we'll get lucky and see lots of it.

True, but a good defense will force the turnovers necessary to win.  This is part of playing championship defense.  Now if PN-G can do this, they will win.  But as of right now the advantage goes to Manvel.  We shall see.     ;)

BTW my prediction is..

PNG 45
Manvel 28

Manvel is overrated now...their local newspaper picked em dead last in their district a few weeks before the season kicked off..i'd say they are somewhere in the middle of that and all the hype now. I can tell ya this..no matter what the outcome, they have a BATTLE on their hands cause the hometown boys are all business!!! Manvel better not show up thinking they got this one licked before it starts cause they will get shocked and sent home wondering what just happened. They better show up to play their A game.

Scalp Em INDIANS!!!!

There's a reason "Cherokee" begins with the phrase...."Always Be Faithful".  Looking at the predictions on this board, seeing so many predict against PNG, thats cool.  We over here at the Indian Nation KNOW what are boys are made of and what their capabilities are.  PNG will take this game by defeating Manvel and moving on in the playoffs. NEVER underestimate the POWER of an Indian on a WarPath!

In my opinion which isnt worth two red cents...

Champonship defense is NOTHING more that making the one key stop you need to make when the game is on the line. Offense is the excact same..can you drive down and have the "Peyton Manning" moment and win the game as time runs out.

Both of those things are what define a true champion. PNG has done both recently and although they may not shut other teams down, they show up BIG when it's make it or break it time.

Oh yeah that same paper pick G-Ball to be around the top of 24-4A after making 5A playoffs last year, but they didn't win a game in district.  One fact for sure, he was dead wrong all the way around the board.  Manvel placed 2nd in 24-4A and only getting stronger, while G-Ball is getting ready to prove why they are one the #1 basketball teams in the state.  Manvel is strong and the PNG coaches & kids know they have their hands full.  It's one thing to come in dreaming of the perfect game (PN-G) and another to know that you have been game tested for the past 9 weeks (excluding Washington) of football.  All Manvel have to do is execute and beat a team that they are stronger, tougher & faster than. That's basically the bottom
line.  But it will not be easy for either team.

Yeah.. everybody and their mothers had Brenham picked as a shoe in to make a State Championship game this year too... I guess we all saw who was right there also huh? So tell me Brenhamfan?? Who is the better team this year?? PNG or Brehnam?? I mean seriously...you have a team that made an exit during the first round and a team still alive in the third round?? Do superior athletes account for everything or does spunk and heart come into play?? I'd take spunk and heart anyday but thats just me. At the end of the day PNG wll bring it and Manvel better be ready...and i guess you and all the other Brenham fans with their crude remarks can sit at home and think of more cute things to say to try and bash PNG and make yourselves feel better about the untimely end to your fine season.
I couldnt agree more. I have seen Manvel on film and they have no where near the overall team speed in which Willis had so our Def in my opinion will have a much better game this week. And the blitzs need to come from the DB's that are covering the slot recievers not our LB's that are to slow to get to the QB.

Your in for a rude awakening if you think your stronger, tougher and faster...yeah maybe ya have a few kids who are real fast but PNG isnt slow pokes by any means. Stronger?? Tougher?? I laugh at that. I actually love it that you guys have the opinion that PNG has to play a perfect game to win this one, it tells me ya'll have no idea what you are getting into. Do me a favor..go back and tell the team that all they need to do is show up against PNG and execute and they will win because you couldnt lead them anymore from the truth. They better not only execute but they better be on top of their game. You are correct about one thing...it's gonna be a great game and hopefully no kids get hurt and hopefully neither team is on an "off" night and both teams play to their full capabilities. I look foward to getting your opinion after the game. Win or lose come back and tell me what ya think afterwards alright??

Bravo...  Now if you want an honest answer, Brenham had a better team than PNG this year.  Yes, yall are still playing and we were eliminated in the first round, but i've seen Brenham 11 times this year and PNG twice, and that's JMO.  (remember who wins when Brenham & PNG play in any sport...) ;) You can preach about heart all you want, but we have just as much heart as any other team out there.  BTW, I won't be at home "thinking of cute things to say".  I'll be at Stallworth with 2 buddies of mine, who happen to be PNG fans.  (I'll be the one in the green) As much as you want to believe I hate PNG, I really don't...  While I admire most of your fans, some of y'all are clueless and just want to believe everybody hates you when they really don't.  I just state my opinion, and you get all offensive.  I'd be more concerned with Dexter Foreman and Manvel, than a team that's not even in the playoffs any more...  Good luck!  Looking forward to hearing Cherokee numerous times, but don't take Manvel lightly, or PNG will be in the same spot Brenham is.

    • naw, maaaaybe 7, definitely not 8 deep.  today im avoiding sitting by #10s parents, had to move away yesterday.   "put my son back in jub, put my son back in"  and then crying on every little touch of someone.    lets ball out today ktz!
    • Very close game until the 2nd half (mostly the 4th) when Orangefield came unraveled. Worse defensive effort I have seen out of the Bobcats in three years. This team has to get back on D and quit getting beat over the top when pressing. Offensively, non ball handlers continually turn it over and their shot selection is poor. Basic basketball, such as: defensive hustle, boxing out, and taking care of the basketball are the areas the Bobcats need to work on most. Whitmire will get them on point, but he shouldn't have to coach effort at the Varsity Level.  We'll be at McNeese this Friday night at 6pm.
    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.
    • 1 thing for certain. Coach Earned 3 more years to figure it out lol
