Lucky Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 I don't know anything about rules' date=' but last night was HF's homecoming, and our P.A. system screwed up during half-time so we had to annoucne our queen after the game.[/quote'] Numbertwo, your joking right ? This is a football post and nobody gives a number 2 about the queen !
GoDogs27 Posted October 28, 2006 Author Report Posted October 28, 2006 I am still doing research on the PA System thing... But I think most of you will find this interesting... Here are the UIL Regulations on Sports Announcers.... Must not be enforced, because lots of schools break this rule... GUIDELINES FOR SCHOOL SPORTS ANNOUNCERS The primary function of a school public address system is to convery pertinent information about the game. Announcers are not part of a cheering section. They should never incite the emotions of the spectators. Information should be given with the same tone concerning both the home team and the visiting team whether they have made a touchdown, or scored the winning basket. The announcer should remember at all times that the sole justification for his function is conveying simple, straightforward, unemotional information.
Lucky Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 There are many things written on these sports message boards that are simply untrue. Most of us read these statements' date=' smile, and read on. Today I have read what is very well be the most inaccurate post that has ever been made on this board. PNG Proud wrote that the announcer from LCM is obnoxious. You could count on one hand the number of men in South East Texas as honorable as this man.[/quote'] Don't worry about them little indians............they're still mad about the 42 to 0
NedDog Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 I don't mind a little bias from the announcers, I expect it really. If announcers only conveyed their information in a "simple, straightforward, (and) unemotional" fashion, the games would be pretty boring. Keep us posted on the piped in music issue, though.

Hmm, sounds like our announcer. Don't ya think? Next to Tip Durham at PNG, he's the most unbiased announcer in the pressbox.
